Ovation of the Seas balconies
Ourusualbeach replied to MRdawgs8's topic in Royal Caribbean International
The doors are inside the room. You are thinking of the connecting family suites where there was a central hallway. -
It used to be dll owed but as already reported dinner covid it is no longer allowed. You will not be allowed off the ship with your luggage. You need to change your flights.

Ovation of the Seas balconies
Ourusualbeach replied to MRdawgs8's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It's only the balcony that is larger, not the cabin. Ovation is an anomaly in the Q class of ships in thet she has a large number of her deck 7 balconies classified as obstructed view. These same cabins on other Q class ships are classified as regular view. We had one of these last week and would definitely book one again especially as they were significantly less expensive. -
You do not have to test negative in order to get a certificate of recovery. That is the whole point of getting a certificate of recovery. Once you get a positive PCR test you should be able to get a Dr to fill out the certificate of recovery if you are no longer showing any symptoms and it has been 10 days since your positive test. The whole point of getting the certificate of recovery is to avoid having to test in the future when there is a possibility that you could continue to test positive for 90 days after being initially infected. Royal will allow you to board their ships if you have the positive PCR test and a certificate of recovery as long as the PCR test is within 90 days of sailing. This avoids having to test pre cruise.

What VV and Azamara do is really irrelevant to what Royal, Carnival and NCL do as it's a small and totally different market. It's the big three that will have to stay stay together or risk losing market share. Once one of those three announce their plan the other 2 will most likely follow fairly quickly.

Vaccination information can only be uploaded through the app and not through your computer.

You should write a book. Could be a 5 part series. One for the events leading up to the cruise and another for each leg.

Refundable deposit versus Non Refundable deposit
Ourusualbeach replied to Tinkerbell's topic in Royal Caribbean International
To add to this. The 100% penalty only applies if you cancel the booking. If you move the booking to a different ship or sail date then the old $100pp penalty still applies -
Refundable deposit versus Non Refundable deposit

There is no best sale. They have been running the same sale for the past 7 years or so. If you book either refundable or non refundable you can get price drops up to final payment date which is 90 days to sailing -

Refundable deposit versus Non Refundable deposit
Ourusualbeach replied to Tinkerbell's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes you can switch at any time from refundable to non refundable you just can't switch back. Also note that closer to final the NRD price may be more than what you paid. If you cancel you lose the full deposit. If you move to another sailing then there is a $100pp penalty -
