  1. Even booking through an agency you are not getting both. The balcony discount is not combinable with the WOW sale. What you may be getting is your balcony discount combined with OBC that the travel agent is offering.
  2. Roysls insurance is sold by the person and not the cabin. It is based on each person's actual cruise fare.
  3. It seem lately that they are waiting longer to assign the guarantees thus preventing most from being able to change staterooms as they are all sold out
  4. You don't. There will be a $100 pp penalty accessed and the balance is returned as an FCC.
  5. Refunds yes but if you booked a NRD rate then refunds come as an FCC and those go the the people listed on the booking regardless of who paid.
  6. In that case it is because you were comparing a 2C which had the large balony that carries a premium over the regular balcony "D" cabins. Nearly all the connecting cabins were at one point D cabins with the regular size balcony. While the connecting carry a premium above the D category they are rarely priced above the C.
  7. Each cabin gets its own reservation number. There is no way to put multiple cabins on one reservation. Only if you book a refundable deposit will the money come back to you. If you book the cheaper NRD fare and cancel there is a $100pp fee and the balance of the deposit gets issued as an FCC in the guests name.
  8. It all depends on who the agent checking is. We were stopped in Miami and questioned because our were listed in OZ not ml.
  9. I have a feeling that I lucked out with getting unlinked. Actually it was more of not requesting to be linked after Royal had to create new C&A account numbers for all of us because of our accounts being corrupted when the kids turned 18 and everyone was listed under one e mail address
  10. If your TA has opted out it means that you cannot participate even on your own.
  11. Even though the dinners can be purchased using GAP Points that only applies to group bookings. Royal often does what they call pass through promotions with various travel agents where they offer dinner for two or gratuities, these are available for all bookings both group and FIT. Looks like its coming from the TA but Royal is funding it.
  12. The free dining is nearly always a pass through promotion that is offered by TA's but in reality it comes from Royal. Your TA can't offer anything different and Royal won't. Only option is to give it or sell it to someone else on board.
  13. You were given incorrect information about the pricing of group cabins. If the child will be under 2 you can keep that double occupancy cabin that is part of the group. You keep the group rate and they can add a third guest to it who must be able to sleep in a pack n play. You will be charged the same rate that the third guest pays on other cabins as well as the taxes and fees. While this will be more than moving someone to cabin "C" it will be a lot less than the price you were quoted on the different category outside of the group.

  15. Here are the covered reasons for cancelling for a full refund. If its not a covered reason you can cancel anytime up until departure and receive a 75% FCC (may have been upped to 90%) 1. sickness, injury, or death of yourself, a traveling companion or members of either of your immediate families, which is diagnosed and treated by a physician at the time your cruise vacation is terminated; 2. involvement in a traffic accident, en route to departure, that causes you to miss your cruise; 3. your home is made uninhabitable by a natural disaster such as fire, flood, earthquake, hurricane or volcano; 4. you are called into active duty by the military to provide aid or relief as a result of a natural disaster; 5. subpoena or being called to serve for jury duty.
  16. They are in the exact same location on Symphony as they are on Oasis. We stayed in one a month ago. Definitely more movement being that high up but didn't notice shaking or vibrating.
  17. Royal will not make as big a change as that ship specific. It will be fleet wide by country
  18. They won't be lost. You have 30 days to transfer the booking from the date it was created.
  19. The industry "expert" is wrong...at least for Royal
  20. May sailings had a final payment date of 30 days prior to sailing. It sounds like you received the notice from the TA and not Royal so that could explain the week delay. Had tiy applied any FCC to the booking where instead of deducting the money as a payment they changed (special fared) the cruise fare instead. Sometimes when they have done this the special faring drops off and the booking gets repriced and then cancelled as it appears that money is still owing.
  21. Richard Fain had mentioned that it was because of the economic slowdown from 2007 to 2009 where Royal put a stop to ordering new ships that led to there being no ships for those years and put their expansion plans behind schedule.
  22. As long as nothing that's stuck to the sides starts to turn fuzzy its all good.
  23. The website has not been updated. They have extended that until Sept. 30, 2022
