  1. Also for me having sailed Aqua on Silhouette I’d be perfectly happy there again but I use my balcony way too much for me to have an IV. Need to start looking at other lines if the price doesn’t decrease for suites & no butler. I don’t need a butler but that as I’ve said needs to be reflected in the cost.
  2. We’ve been in PS, CS, SS & Aqua in S class. No way I’d sail Aqua on e class. Suites only. We’ve an upcoming cruise in a CS for a 12 night cruise costing just under £20,000. For that cost I damn well expect a butler. I’ll cancel if they change that as that is what I had booked at the time. Reduce the fare & im perfectly happy without a butler.
  3. We were travelling with friends to the US. One of them had an Esta due to expire while in US. They weren’t allowed to board & reapplied at the airport. Luckily we were all travelling virgin upper so it didn’t take too long at check in.
  4. There were a huge range of gf cakes in OV in June on Silhouette.
  5. Have to say was wondering the same re Twitter & Celebrity X
  6. Looks delicious. Add an Avocado & it’s my ideal breakfast.
  7. We used PK Travel last year. We went to Sounion. We speak Greek so I don’t know if that affected the price €160 for 5 hours & although knowledgeable he was a driver. I studied classics so didn’t need a guide.
  8. Thank you so much - will take a look. That’s very kind of you.
  9. Oh yes but on a sea day I don’t need to be up at the crack for my day out! 😁
  10. I know you can’t recommend a good cruise agent but any clues as to how to find one please? Thank you
  11. Anyone know how P&O compare to Celebrity please? We usually Sail in suites. They are possibly allowing vaping in casino…. TIA
  12. First time we had elite breakfast on our cruise in May & we loved it. Usually have ours in Luminae or Blu but elite breakfast finishes at 10 on a sea day. An extra hour in bed - yay!
  13. We will do our booked cruise & see. Then Will look around for our next one I think.
  14. Having sailed both, at the time I’d say DCL were superior to X. Shows were superb. Haven’t been on DCL for a few years so can’t comment. Suites on X & DCL.
  15. Agreed. I’ve seen them. Not for me. Suites on Eclass or SV. Otherwise rather not sail. I like a proper balcony too much.
  16. Think the breakfast in Blu beats the breakfast in Luminae- we usually travel suites but were sold out on our last cruise. We were very pleasantly surprised by Aqua class. I’d not sail in an IV on e class though.
  17. We took our own last few cruises. For our cabin. Last cruise Cristal. Very nice. Usually take Billecart Salmon also nice but Cristal in another league!
  18. U.K. our go to travel agent we have stopped using the last couple of years as it generally was a bit higher. Crux one year we booked an expensive land tour & didn’t use another agent we know (personally) as I thought the deal wouldn’t be as good. Turns out they were the main agent in the first place. Lesson learnt. Now we book direct with cruise line as I also can’t no longer be bothered to hunt around.
  19. We were talking about doing an Alaska cruise when on Apex last year. The general consensus from seasoned cruisers was Princess rather than Celebrity but that we wouldn’t be disappointed if we stayed with celebrity.
  20. We generally tip extra also. There is sometimes, someone we forget, when doing our calculations. So now we take 2/3 extra envelopes with us, with just our room number & name on, so that if we see someone we’ve missed out, they don’t. It doesn’t often happen but we aren’t perfect!
  21. There is a gluten free section (& deserts) in OV but you need to be super vigilant due to others. I’ve always been accommodated well with gf bread. I occasionally choose the day before but not always. There is usually something I like or that can be adapted.
  22. Time to investigate P&O I think if X goes the smoking route. Dog walking friend sails P&O, Princess & Cunard (cut above for Cunard).
  23. We were on Silhouette in Aqua for the first time in May. Did not get any snacks delivered. Blu was excellent, as good as Luminae imo. We dined in Tuscan & Murano. Personally thought Tuscan wasn’t worth the upgrade as Blu so good. Lunch in OV was decent on sea days but not what we are used to in Luminae. I suspect will be same for you if coming from Viking. Silhouette is a beautiful ship & I wouldn’t hesitate to do Aqua again on S class.
