  1. Makes sense. If they are going to price them high they may get more sales from a larger pool of guests who don't qualify for Barefoot Beach outright?
  2. I want to say 8? We have booked a Standard one on Barefoot Beach before and had that many.
  3. I have a refundable rate on my Explorer cruise in September. It went down $450. They said they would only offer me a $180 discount in the form of OBC because I didn't book a NON-REFUNDABLE rate! Huh? I also booked under the Cruise with Confidence rules...
  4. Isn't this the point of using Air2Sea...to ensure you make your cruise? Otherwise you can book on your own, save some money and use your Travel Insurance for reimbursement. This makes no sense to me. Plus, I think Ken would know. 😉
  5. We are on the Sep 29th one! Unfortunately no price drops for us in a Panoramic OV...😒
  6. My September sailing on Explorer dropped $400. Royal would only give me $180, because I had a refundable rate and they wouldn't change it to the non-refundable. 🤔
  7. Looks like you can find celebration gifts and room decorating options under the Cruise Planner... Found it on the web posted by Matt H.
  8. The Wonder transatlantic! Apr 20 - May 4th, 2022. This picture is from another one that was in the MDR. I believe it was beef and mushroom.
  9. As a Southerner who loves Mashed potatoes, I have never detected "instant" mashed potatoes on a Royal cruise. I believe they are the real deal! Favorite food lately? The Pot Pies! I think I had Chicken and Leek for lunch one day. The crust was perfect and the filling was extremely tasty. I think it was on the Wonder TA... Least favorite (and I've never tried them): Hot dogs; Hamburgers; overcooked fish.
  10. Yep. I found it. It's an exclusive private golf club.
  11. That is the Bayonne Golf Club! Lighthouse: The 242-foot-tall lighthouse is part of the spectacular castle-style clubhouse completed in 2008 on a hilltop, overlooking the Hudson River and the New York Harbor. Course: Sporting views of the New York City skyline and the Statue of Liberty, this private club transformed an old dumping site into a linksy course of fescue and mounds in 2006. Walking with a caddie is required. The Bayonne Golf Club is so exclusive that even the one percent of the one percent have trouble getting on.
  12. D+ members get 2 free days of surf. You can pay extra for surf + stream. There is also a discount off a package. I believe it runs about $50 off?
  13. From EarthSky website: Here are the hurricane names for 2022 Atlantic hurricane names (season runs from June 1 to November 30) are: Alex, Bonnie, Colin, Danielle, Earl, Fiona, Gaston, Hermine, Ian, Julia, Karl, Lisa, Martin, Nicole, Owen, Paula, Richard, Shary, Tobias, Virginie and Walter. Eastern North Pacific hurricane names (season runs from May 15 to November 30) are: Agatha, Blas, Celia, Darby, Estelle, Frank, Georgette, Howard, Ivette, Javier, Kay, Lester, Madeline, Newton, Orlene, Paine, Roslyn, Seymour, Tina, Virgil, Winifred, Xavier, Yolanda and Zeke. If you’re interested, you can view those names, and names for upcoming years, at the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
  14. The weather has been just beautiful this season so far, hasn't it? I sailed Ovation on the 8-day May 5th. The Northern Lights were even visible one night!
  15. Yeppers! Florida is out this week (May 24 - June 3) with the exception of 3 counties which go until June 7-9.
  16. Don't stop shuddering yet, lol! I always request Early Traditional Seating and have received MTD or late seating on at least half of my recent cruises.
  17. I was on the first Alaska cruise week this year (05-13 May). It was pretty much a disaster for us. The people kept getting off the elevator, but we were NOT moving to go in for the 2nd seating. We were backed up because first seating had not finished after 2+ hours! After a point, just decided to go get pizza at Sorrento's. Another day went up to Windjammers. The third time I made a meal of the appetizers in the Diamond Lounge! When I did make it to my table in the MDR, another couple was seated at my 2-top. The Head Waiter said they had walked in and seated themselves? I could only shake my head. It was not good. That goes for the food, too. I only ate there twice the whole week. That being said? It was the first week. We were grossly understaffed and I am sure it is much improved by now!
  18. Just got off the Wonder TA followed by first Alaska Cruise of the season on Ovation. Things that made me cringe: 1) The number of people that coughed outright without covering or protecting their mouth/nose. (One guy standing at the DL Espresso machine facing me sneezed!) 2) Saw someone touch their face then grab the end of the cappuccino machine that dispenses the coffee to raise/lower the spigot. (If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have thought twice about getting my coffee, but it made me think about others...) 3) Saw someone with their finger stuck inside their ear (itch?) in line for the DL continental breakfast, who reached out and grabbed a pastry with that same hand... 4) The number of people that tried to squeeze into the elevators when they were already shoulder to shoulder..
  19. Yes, of course! I just wanted to point out that the starting location is far different than the place where you get off... It surprised me.
