  1. Agree. This is why we decided to cancel our Nov 22 cruise this year and will wait and see what "awaits" us next year. At least Celebrity allowed us to keep our FCC and apply it for next year. That was a positive 😉
  2. When I came to CC, I had to google what Bill was and also what Dorothy was. LOL! Years ago, my Jewish neighbors had both a Christmas tree and a Menorah. Their home was so perfect and I went home wondering why the light bulbs were out in the Menorah because of their perfection. Yes, I do have my very blonde moments and laugh at myself. Life is always a learning experience.
  3. I am not Liberal at all, however, growing up my Mother's brother (my uncle) was gay. It was well hidden in my family and as I got older and figured it out when he moved to SF and lived with another man, that was the reason. He passed away a few years ago and I miss him dearly. I also get offended when assumed because I am not Liberal that I would have an issue with gay people. Furthest thing from the truth. My Uncle taught me that. He was a fabulous designer too. He taught me about design, fabrics, architecture, etc. This is why I dress so nicely 😉 I live my life to the fullest and everyone else should too. xo
  4. I am not gay, but adore my gay friend with the great sense of humor. xo Also, all of the gay men love me because I dress well and am funny too.
  5. Thanks. Yes, that is my biggest concern too. I do not want to be in the dungeon. My DH wants to go and this is not a bucket list cruise. 10 days in the Caribbean but in and out of US ports (FLL). I would rather fly to FL and spend 5 days at the Breakers in Palm Beach. At least I am in control of my life that way. LOL. Enjoy Italy!
  6. I may be similar to the OP's Husband and am seriously considering canceling my Nov cruise. I would typically look to upgrade from my S-1 to a CS or RS but really think it could be a potential waste of money. We have remained Covid free (smart or lucky, not sure) and being cooped up who knows where on a ship would be a nightmare. Also, our President just tested positive again and he had been taking the Paxlovid treatment. You think you are free from the virus and then "wham" it never really went away. Who is really going to trust any of this stuff anymore? Decisions, Decisions. 😞
  7. Well, we have had 2 US Presidents survive this virus. Different forms of the virus. 1st Pres had no vaccine available, was overweight, over 70, and was very ill. Great medical care probably saved him. 2nd Pres just had the new form of virus BA5, 4 vaccines, great medical care, close to 80, and his only health issue is a stutter ;-). We really need to trust our physicians and do our best to stay healthy. I am going to assume most here on these boards do just that Cheers to health and healthy cruising!
  8. Wrong. This was just common sense and you were not a target. Take a chill pill and hope you get an appt. with your TV doctors. Most of us are not as fortunate as you are and we depend on our local physicians.
  9. We are affiliated with the Mayo Clinic where I live. Trust your Dr. because only they know about you and your health and risks.. I think most of us here understand this. My Dr. said to wait until Fall.
  10. Interesting posts here. I have had 3 vaccines, all Pfizer. The 3rd one, the Booster was last October. Today, I had my annual physical and my Internist said to wait until Fall for my 4th. She said I am very fit and healthy and hopefully the vaccine for the new variants will be out then. She also said that with this new BA5 one, there are few hospitalizations.
  11. We took the NCL Hawaii cruise years ago. It was only a floating hotel for us and having never been to Hawaii it allowed us to visit the different islands and decide which ones we would like to vacation on our next land trip. Prior to embarking in Honolulu, we stayed at the Halekulani hotel and loved it. We also rented our own car on each of the islands and explored on our own. We would lunch at Four Seasons resorts and find other high end hotels to spend time at to help in our decision making on when and where to return to. It provided a perfect introduction to the islands and now we just fly there and stay on land.
  12. That is just Mr. Compassionate being Mr. Compassionate.
  13. The Blonde chef makes the best meals overlooking the lake and the Island Green 😉 We have been remodeling so not much time to go out for dinner. Very casual here and not like Aspen. Here are a few suggestions that we have been told about and have experienced a few. Anthony's (mainly seafood done Pacific NW style), Cedars on the lake (casual, boats can dock up, and really good Prime Rib) Beverly's at the CDA resort (have not tried it but many recommend), Shooters is on the lake and very casual and fun. We arrived by boat this weekend. No Michelin dining here, just a gorgeous lake and beautiful nature. You must try Huckleberry ice cream! Huckleberries are only found here and in Montana. Now I know why Huckleberry Hound was blue LOL!
  14. I was not on that one but one similar. Aussie Spring break going to Fiji Islands needs to be avoided. Just like Spring break in the Caribbean. 2nd leg to NZ was a whole different demographic and very similar to Oceania cruises I had taken prior to this one. Do your homework 🙂
  15. Yes, the dining and views are exceptional. I have not stayed at the hotel and was there just for dining. After numerous visits to Monte Carlo, a trip to Eze is something most should not miss. A funny little story to tell. When my daughter was 15 she and her best friend spent a month at camp in Cap d'Ail. When their French studies were finished, they would all take the train to MC and dine on croissants and wine. ( They would put sugar in the wine to make it palatable to a 15 yr old.) Her cheeks were a bit chubby when she arrived back in the States. I am sure there is a lot more I never knew about 😉
  16. CC does not offer that function :(. They reminded me of champagne flutes we had in Eze at Chateau d'Or. I think the type of glassware actually improves the taste of everything in it. I am a woman that must always have cloth napkins with dinner. Even if we only had hot dogs. My friends think it is nuts. Just a bit more laundry.
  17. The only reason I opened the thread was because of the big RAT.
  18. You are in the RS and will be well taken care of. You should be able to dine in any venue you choose and your butler will make certain of that. Do not fret. Once on board, everything will fall into place 🙂
  19. As a former stockbroker, it is just something I have always done. I always want to know if I need to reposition myself with either my stocks, bonds, or cash. It still sickens me and I feel sorry for those that really cannot afford to take the losses.
  20. I typically check my brokerage account every few days if not daily. I have not even looked this week because it will make me sick to my stomach. 🥲
