  1. I also would like to know why people would get off the ship and fly home? We were on Equinox eating in Luminae during our January cruise and I thought the food was very good, ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Thought all meals were very tasteful and good quality. We sailed on Beyond in April and ate in Blu. As I stated on another thread I like pasta, beef and potatoes. After the first night I could basically order anything off the MDR menu. I was hesitant to ask but some nights there was nothing that appealed to me on the Blu menu. The reason I was hesitant to ask was that on another thread cruisers said they won’t let you order anything but what’s on the menu in Blu because the restaurants are on different floors. I didn’t have a problem getting anything. My only food disappointment with food on Beyond was the burgers at the Mast Grill. Don’t think I need to elaborate on that. Just my 2 cents!
  2. Of course my choice would be Martini bar. There is a lot of seating not only at the bar but away from the bar. I think you would have a chance with 7 people. But depends on the time you get there. Eden is really nice and quieter than martini bar.
  3. Totally agree with terrydtx. The French Onion was the best I have had on any Celebrity ship or as a matter of fact any restaurant. Like everyone states all the time on cruise critic food is subject to everyone’s individual taste.
  4. We were on Beyond mid April. They actually have a machine that goes from room to room, floor to floor that washing windows. I didn’t really see dirty windows. The seas were not rough on our cruise either so maybe not so much splashing to get windows dirty. Gotta be other things to complain about.
  5. Won’t order chicken, salmon, pork tenderloin, or steak salad in a restaurant. I eat that at home all the time so am sick of those items.
  6. I posted on another thread. We were in Blu a month ago. Was concerned about menu because I’m not an octopus, lamb chop, duck person. I managed to get some dishes from the MDR. Prime Rib, Ribeye, Lobster, Fillet. All were fabulous. I will say again.. I’ve had French onion soup in many restaurants and supper clubs including many times on other Celebrity ships. This was by far the most flavorful rich best tasting French onion soup I’ve ever had. Someone may chime in that it was Meh like they did on the other thread but were they on the same ship? Who knows. But was excellent IMHO. My DW thought the same.Too each their own. Servers were fabulous. The right deal and I think we’d do it again.
  7. We were in Aqua Class a month ago on Beyond. I looked at the Blu menu on the app and I’m really not a duck, quail, lamb chop, octopus type person. So I was kind of what will I have? Then reading here’s that they won’t let you order from the MDR menu really threw me for a loop. After the first night they would let me order Prime Rib, Lobster or what ever else I wanted. Maybe Maitre de liked us. We always got there at 5:30-6:00 and never seen anyone waiting. We had a table away from the window because we loved the waitress and assistant. Would I go and book Aqua again feeling I had to do it again? Only if it was a good deal. Service was incredible. BTW the French onion soup in Blu was over the moon. Super rich and flavorful. Absolutely loved it. Yes E Class you can see in and see the workers busy..
  8. With the current prices of Celebrity's cruises our next one may be without the drink package. We love to have drinks on the cruise. Love the convenience of just showing the card or not showing the card and a drinks in hand. But it comes to a point you need to think is it worth a $1000 for drinks. Just exaggerating. But between being able to bring wine onboard. Elite captains cocktail happy hour and if you got to buy a few who cares. May be worth trying….just my two cents…
  9. Totally agree just off Beyond and seen some cruisers dressed up but don’t recall seeing anyone in a tux. I usually wear a jacket. Sometimes a vest with a shirt and tie..
  10. Just off Beyond. Deck 10 aft. Never heard any creaking at all. Super quite room.
  11. Yes I’ve never been able to get the search feature on Cruise Critic to work. It brings up everything with the word you type in. Not even pertaining to the topic you are looking for. Like you type equinox martini bar. Will bring up every topic with equinox in the topic. I gave up years ago with this search.
  12. We are on Beyond Sunday room 10223. Any word on noise in that room. I will report back after the cruise..Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Hey Charla, sounds like you are having a fabulous time. Did you receive my email about the Martini Bar? I know you are busy- Just checking. Keep up the great review.
  14. Nice review. Did you make it to the Martini Bar at all? How was it? We are in Aqua next week dining in Blu. Great job on review!
  15. Think this may be the place to ask.when you arrive at port there’s a special arrival area or walkway for retreat guests. Do they have a special area for Aqua class cruiser?
  16. Hi Charla, Enjoy reading your review of your cruise on Beyond. We get on it on Sunday April 16th when you get off. We are in Aqua Class and dining in Blu. Have you been to the Martini Bar yet? I thought I read you’ve been on Edge. How do the Martini Bars differ from Beyond to Edge? It looks like Beyond Martini Bar is bigger? If you do get to the Martini Bar could you find out the lead or regular Bartenders name? Thought someone said Herman. You do a fabulous job with the pictures and your writing of the review! Enjoy your Cruise!
  17. If anyone has an answer to my question above #7 please respond! Any help would be appreciated…
  18. Actually what is the current cost to upgrade from Classic to Premium when you get the All included with the cruise? Looks like $20 a day. Is it worth a call to Captains Club or Blue Chip Club?
  19. Wow what a fabulous detailed review. Loved it but just one quick question. How do you possibly remember so much detail? But great job. Felt like I was onboard with you.
  20. I’ve used Sprite Zero which has been readily available onboard.Less sugar which is a good thing.
  21. So would you say the menu in Blu that is on the app right now is what will be served on my April 16th cruise?
  22. We will be on Beyond in Blu mid April. May ask the first night to see there is a problem ordering off the MDR menu if there is nothing on the Blu menu that appeals to me. Or just go to MDR. But worth asking.
  23. This is so terrible. Others may know more but I’d take it higher up the ladder. You should have a binding contract with the prior price I would think. I wouldn’t have cancelled but this for sure is not right. Sorry for your horrific experience.
  24. Totally agree! French onion soup on Celebrity is the best. Very consistent from all the Celebrity ships we’ve been on. I doubt I could get 3 down. But always get it when I sail on Celebrity….
