Good morning from out to sea...Just to give everyone a little info on who we are...there are four us traveling on this trip. Angel (me), AnitaMarie (DP), Prin (my sister) and my Mom (aka Ms. Dee). This is Mom's very first cruise!

We dropped anchor off Princess Cays a little while ago and we are going to have breakfast in a few minutes. We had a quick embarkation yesterday. From luggage drop to cabin door took only 45 minutes! We are on Riviera deck (cabins 516 & 518). Cabins are nice but the beds are not as comfortable as others we have experienced on Carnival and other lines (even with the egg crate topper) No real complaints though. Lunch in the DR was great. This was the first time for us eating lunch in the DR for embarkation so it was a nice touch. Toured the ship a bit before muster drill in the Explorers Lounge. Muster was pretty painless albeit a little warm. After muster, we met up with our Cruise Critic Roll Call members at Outriggers bar. Everyone was very nice and it was good to finally meet them after speaking online for so many months! We will have our “official” meet and greet on Tuesday (1st sea day) in Skywalkers so more on that later.

We had a little issue with my Mom's luggage yesterday. When it hadn't arrived by 5:00 p.m. we started getting a little worried. We called to check on it and found out that it was being held because apparently, the porter hadn't included the deck “letter” on the tag. He wrote 516 instead of R516 so it couldn't be delivered! It was okay though and Mom finally got unpacked before dinner. We have “anytime” dining so we didn't have to rush but we decided to just go to the Horizon Court for dinner as we all were pretty tired and opted to go the “quick & easy” route.

Mom was pretty wiped out from the day's activities so she “crashed” very soon after dinner. We decided to check out the casino and set up our onboard casino account. There were not that many people gambling so after losing a little we went to see what was going on at Skywalkers. It was pretty “dead” also...I guess people were also tired from the day so we decided to call it a night around midnight.

We are really enjoying ourselves. The ship is beautiful, Ms. Dee is really enjoying her first cruise so far. Thanks for coming along with us. There will be more to come....

and a quick question. Are the in-room fridges empty and able to keep sodas and water bottles cold?

Thanks much for any responses!

The ice bucket will be in there and, while there may be some soda cans already stocked in there for you (which you'll be charged for drinking, of course), you can remove them to replace them with your own. And yes, the fridge will keep sodas and water cold and the ice from melting.

I can easily unload it and put our sodas and water in there.

Angelsbaby,

I just read on another post that the Power Hour $2.99 drink specials have been discontinued. Can you verify?

If they were discontinued, then it happened on Sunday. I had one Saturday night. I'm also curious.

Good morning everyone,

Still having a great time on the beautiful Emerald Princess. Sorry that there was no LIVE post yesterday. Although it was a sea day, we were pretty busy all day. We spent the morning in the Terrace Pool (which is aft on our deck) where we met some very nice people. We had our CC Roll Call meet & greet in Skywalkers from 1:00-2:00. It was fun to meet and “hang out” with everyone. We had a few drinks, talked and had a great time! To our disappointment, NOT ONE of the ship's officers or crew made any appearances, but no one even mentioned it. We had a great anyway!! My mom and sister went to the shopping demonstration and got the shopping “book” (for $25.00) that includes coupons and stuff. So I guess we'll see how good they are when we go into St. Maarten this morning. For the rest of the day we explored and just hung out until it was time to get ready for dinner. Last night was formal night so we got all dressed up and took formal pictures. Anita & I spent a little time in the casino before calling it a night.

I can see land now as we are just getting to St. Maarten! It looks like there will be one other ship in port with us. It's a good thing that we rented a car here today because my sister is all excited to go all around the island redeeming her “free” gifts and using the coupons from the book (which she just told me is good for all ports).

Ok...time to have breakfast and get ready to enjoy this beautiful day on St. Maarten! Check back later folks...

Angel & AnitaMarie :)
