Hello.

No you don't "have" to bring water with you. Bottled water is available for purchase aboard ship, it's a little expensive though (3 or 4 dollars)

We bring two or three bottles with us and refill them aboard. The tap water on todays ships is very good. Hoped this helped, Have fun!!!!!!

I just ask for a glass of ice water, if I'm thirsty ON the ship. You may want a bottle to take ashore, if you are a "water-carrying" person. I don't generally walk around with water.

The ship's water is fine to drink. Your food, drink and ice is made from it!

Why pack anything extra? We usually buy just one or two bottles on the ship, then refill. Its worth the couple of dolllars not to have to pack sports bottles!

oh, and Youll love the Independence!!!

I know that Royal Caribbean has a beverage package that can be purchased for having water bottles delivered to your stateroom. If you want to save a little money, than maybe bring them, but I don't see why you should have to carry around the extra weight in your suitcase. Oh, and also, no question is a stupid question, especially if it comes from a first cruiser. Have a wonderful time on the Independence of the Seas, a great ship and you will bring home great memories from your first cruise!:)
