Our tour with Spain Day Tours Malaga to Granada to see Alhambra was wonderful. The Alhambra location so beautiful and the bus ride with our lady speaker but so sorry I do not have here name she was very informative

but then to split up into smaller groups was great and once again I do not remember her name but she was a delightful lady and knew all about the grounds and history which our group really enjoyed.

Our communication was flawless with our emails back and forth always received a reply and that is very much appreciated.

The cost was in line for service we received and I think you run your company very well, keep up the same quality and you will be in business for a long time.

photom and others: Was there any specific reason you chose Spain Day Tours for your Barcelona guiding rather than Barcelona Day Tours?

Does anyone know if they're actually the same company, just under a different name in Barcelona?

Of those who used Spain Day Tours/ Barcelona Day Tours

Did you choose private with driver + guide?

Private with driver-guide

or Semi--with a small group?

Also-- for the pick up at the port--with luggage... I read on here about a theft of a rucksac (containing lap top etc) and that SpainDayTours/BDT driver --had failed to keep vehicle secure. Thoughts? We will be traveling with work laptops.

Our day from Cádiz to Seville was fabulous. Pickup was efficient and John was very informative on our way to Seville . We met Rachel and had a wonderful tour of the plaza, Jewish quarter and the Alcazar. It was great having a small group of 10 on our tour and I would highly this service

We hadexcellent tours in both Barcelona and Lisbon with Spain Day Tours. Ignazzi andNonu were both exceptional guides and safe drivers!

We arrived intoBarcelona in pouring rain but by the time we gotup to Montserrat the rain had all but gone (we understand that it had rainednearly all day in Barcelona!).

Our visit to Lisbon was amazing – whata lovely city. We only had time to see a small part really and we will beback one day to investigate further.

Ignazzi andNonu were polite, courteous, amusing and obviously love the region they live in. We learnt a lot about their regionsand about the history.

Both vehicleswere lovely Mercedes people carriers and were immaculate.

Emilia and Annawere so helpful with my original enquiries which made my organising so mucheasier.

We thoroughlyenjoyed both tours and would not hesitate to recommend Spain Day Tours and inparticular Ignazzi and Nonu, to anyone.

Four of us just returned from a Holland America14-day European River Explorer aboard the Prinsendam. We enjoyed 2 great tours from Spain Day Tours. We took there tours in Lisbon, Portugal and Cartagena, Spain. Both full day tours were absolutely excellent. The tour guides were great, transportation was great and the lunch stops were great. We had a wonderful time on these tours.

We recently used Spain day Tours for shore excursions in Bilbao, Seville and Granada and were most impressed.  On all counts they delivered as promised.  Their guides were knowledgable and professional.  The vehicles were fully equipped and air conditioned and the drivers assisted passengers getting on and off the bus.  Our groups were small allowing us to see and do so much.  They were punctual and most importantly got us back to the ship in plenty of time.    We used them for a private Barcelona land tour and were equally pleased.  Our driver was knowledgable and brought an umbrella in case of rain and neck pillows for our comfort.  Highly recommend them!

Just to add on. I actually helped arrange a small group excursion from Cadiz to Seville using SDT. We succeeded. My biggest challenge was really the small pool of possible participants to choose from from the CC roll call.  Sometimes folks just aren't aware of CC Roll Calls (spread the word), but cruisers certainly know about SDT and contact them often.  The combined efforts of my early recruitment (2 mos in advance) with outside independent inquiries worked out to our favor, nearly filling a full coach bus of 40.  Big coach/longish drive --- not to worry our overall SDT escort Debbie was terrific filing the time with facts about Cadiz, Jerez, sherry, wine, rice and about her home in Malaga - 1.5 hours went quickly. In Seville we were split into smaller walking groups each with our own official guide for the walk thru Plaza D'Esp, Santa Cruz and then the Alcazar.  All well organized and very informative with headsets included. Bonus was having some free time to explore nearby, grab a bite or see things like Seville cathedral or the Triana neighborhood/River.  Excellent company with their act together at a reasonable price - no hesitations using.

Hey travellers are there any good private operators who can give a quick early morning car tour to the key sites around Barcelona (with our luggage secure) and drop off to catch a mid morning train at Barcelona Sants? Our plan is to get off from the cruise (5am disembark) and get a quick tour before our train which leaves 10.05am. any advice?

That feels like a tight connection banking on being off by 5am and having to be at a train station etc. You have better nerves than me. Have you considered Tours By Locals and using someone for a private car/tour that you customize?

We used Spain Day Tours/Top Days Tours for two tours during our cruise from London to Rome.  A group of 14 had an excellent tour of Lisbon, Sintra, and Estoril with Diago Costa.   Diago was a top notched tour guide.  All of us enjoyed Diago's talks about the places we visited, his time management to keep us together timely so we can see everything, and recommendations to grab a snack and souvenir.  Diago is a very knowledgeable about the sights! He really made the sights including the pena palace a wonderful tour. Love having the head sets which were an excellent way to listen about the sites.

The second tour with Spain Day Tours/Top Days Tours was with Jordie (hope I spelled correctly, our driver/guide for a 1/2 day in Barcelona for the six of us. He shared a great wealth of information about the sites and stopping at places to photograph such as the beautiful Sagrada Familia and as we visited Park Guell. We greatly appreciated Jordie sharing the history about the region with us and recommended places to eat and wine to drink which we thoroughly enjoyed after our tour and walk around the town before heading back to the ship.  Also appreciated that he had umbrellas for us to use when it started to rain.

Both tours were prompt at picking us up at the cruise port and dropping us off at the cruise terminal before the sail away.   Thank you again for the two tours and especially our tour guides. I also want to thank the ladies (Emilia and Anna) that have helped arrange the two tours initially. They were awesome and very prompt in responding back.

Using Spain Day Tours was a great experience.  We used them twice on our voyage.  Did Alhambra/Granada tour.  Very well organized and our guide from Malaga to Granada was outstanding.   Very well spoken and a great sense of humor.  With his small Spanish accent made his jokes and comments even better.   Guide at Alhambra, not Spain Day Tours person, was difficult to understand.  This has been passed on the SDT and they will evaluate situation.

In Cartangena we also used them.  Had another great day.  We were taken first to a small convent and church just outside of Murcia.  It overlooked the entire valley and was sort of a hidden piece of lovely art.  When we walked into the little church, all of us gasped at its beauty.  Totally unexpected from a small church after visiting the big churches on trip. This was a stop most other tours would not take.  Difficult drive for the 'big' bus tours.

Spain Day Tour communications were terrific.  Constant communications and updates.  I think our group had about 14 people.  Would highly recommend.  No issues in getting back to ship on time.  They were very well aware of schedules.

We used Spain Day Tours for 4 tours during our recent Transatlantic cruise.  I'm usually hesitant to book independent tours when on a cruise but I was so impressed by Spain Day Tours from the prompt, informative emails beforehand to the actual tours.  Everything was fantastic.  I definitely will use Spain Day Tours (SDT) again.

Emilia, Mark, Anna and others in the SDT office  that I communicated with ahead of our trip were so quick to respond to my numerous questions.  Also they made suggestions that helped enhance our trip. The detailed emails on where to meet the tour guides when we got off the ship was spot on.

Our Half Day Tour with a drop off at Sagrada Familia in Barcelona was the highlight of our trip.  I loved the scenic overlook stops, the drive through Barcelona, the stop at Park Guell, and the stop at Sagrada Familia.  Gina, our tour guide, was outstanding.  She was so informative and also very patient with all of my questions about being dropped off at Sagrada Familia since SDT had arranged for tickets for us to go inside Sagrada Familia.  Gina has a great sense of humor and obviously loves her job.  Our driver Ricar was also great especially navigating the streets of Barcelona.

Our tour in Cartagena and Murcia was also excellent.  Mar, our tour guide, and Javier, our driver were great.  Javier did such a good job especially in Murcia when we went to a beautiful church on a hill.  He got up (and down) the narrow road in a big bus.  I don't think I could have done that in a car.  Mar was very informative and friendly.  She knew a lot about the history, culture, and life today in Cartagena and Murcia.

At our stop in Malaga we drove through Granada on our way to Alhambra.  It was a long drive (about 2 hours) but well worth it.  Our tour guide, Rafael, was outstanding.  Our bus driver, Javier, was great too especially with all of the traffic.  Rafael has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable about the history, culture, and everyday life in the region.  Alhambra was overwhelmingly beautiful.  Our tour guide there was Margarite.  She has a great sense of humor and explains so many details that we never would have received if we had done the tour on our own. Unfortunately we were unable to stop in Granada due to a lot of construction going on but SDT let us know that ahead of time so there were no surprises.  Also I'd rather miss a stop than miss the ship 🙂

In Tenerife we had another great tour.  Unfortunately it was raining like crazy and very foggy so it was difficult to see a lot on a our  drive up to Tiede National Park  but we did see the scenery on the way down.  Our driver, Luis Miguel, was was pro not only driving the mountainous road up the the national park but also driving through all the rain and fog.  Our tour guide, Nida, was great too.  She explained so much and also was really good at adjusting the tour itinerary given all the rain and fog.The park and the terrain was stunning.  We also stopped in La Laguna but since we were there on a Sunday, not a lot was open in the city center.

All in all I am so impressed with SDT.  The communications from the office, the tour guides and drivers, and the actual tours were fantastic.  I liked being in a small group of under 20 people rather than 44 we would have been with had we taken the ship's excursions.  The tour guides and drivers always made sure we were back at the ship in more than enough time.  I highly recommend Spain Day Tours!!

Spain Day Tours gave us an exceptional port stop in Lisbon with our group of 14 from HAL's Oosterdam on October 31st despite the very rainy day.  Our tour  guide whisked us away promptly from the ship as we headed up to see Sintra and the Pena Palace, the Estoril coast and highlights of Lisbon.  Our tour guide was extremely informative and very pleasant even though our group must have been a challenge for him throughout the day as one of our group got lost at Pena Palace and our guide kept us on track touring the Palace while he searched for our lost gentleman whom he finally tracked down.  Our guide gave us an excellent rolling commentary throughout the day and was able to answer each and every question asked of him (even when he had already answered the questions in his commentary) he was extremely professional and courteous.  My husband and I have been to Lisbon a few times and the Sintra and Estoril area as well but I found our tour to be well worth visiting these place again and would certainly recommend it for others to take (even in the rain).

If you don't mind me asking...how far is Alhambra/Granada from Malaga? Our cruise stops in Malaga and I was wondering if it's a pretty easy day trip to Alhambra. Thank you!

It's a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive from the port.  I don't know if there is any public transit to get there, but I am guessing it would be difficult.  I booked the tour with Spain Day Tours based on the many positive reviews (and so far they have been very responsive to emails) and the cost was half of what the cruise line is asking.

Public transit option is possible but not really feasible within 7-8 hr port stop. Car rental option in Málaga port is doable assuming that tickets are purchased in advance. Distance 150km to Alhambra to port.
