Well, if you are going to add the "little" places, then there is a charge at Ben & Jerry's and at Lattétudes.
dohertm1 Posted April 7, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2011 Main dining room on the FOS is outstanding. We enjoy all of our meals there instead of waiting on line at the Windjammer buffet. You can order as much as you want in the MDR -- the difference is you get served! Much more relaxing. We did enjoy Jade for sushi and Asian noodles although it wasn't authentic sushi. Sorrento's always great for a lite snack, even desserts, late night. And don't forget room service -- that food is free too until late in the evening (after midnight I believe, then there is a service charge). packyb Posted April 7, 2011 #9 Share Posted April 7, 2011 I've never tried the room service but I think this time I might for a breakfast. Any thoughts?
Langley Cruisers Posted April 7, 2011 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2011 Remember that anywhere there is a charge, you will be asked to present your Sea Pass card and you'll sign a bill. It's not like it will be a "surprise" on your account at the end of the cruise. You'll know soon enough if you are going to be charged extra. :) EDITED to add: Re: room service - some people love it, some do not. We did not. The coffee was lukewarm and the pastries were underwhelming. ;) We'd prefer to go to the Dining Room or Windjammer. However, Room Service is convenient if you just want a little something while you are getting ready in the morning.
Palmetto Pilot Posted April 7, 2011 #11 Share Posted April 7, 2011 I've never tried the room service but I think this time I might for a breakfast. Any thoughts? It's standard food like the Windjammer, it's ok nothing great and they always got our breakfast order wrong.
pmfan Posted April 7, 2011 #12 Share Posted April 7, 2011 On the Freedom, when ordering room service, can you order off the dining room menu? Will be staying in an inside cabin, not a suite.
Relaxinginthesun Posted April 7, 2011 #13 Share Posted April 7, 2011 On FOS there is a limited room service menu for non-suite passengers. MDR menu is only available to suite passengers.

It's not like it will be a "surprise" on your account at the end of the cruise. You'll know soon enough if you are going to be charged extra. :) Ah, but sometimes it's too late - like when you are offered a drink from a tray at sailaway - they ask for your seapass AFTER you have taken that first sip! We usually get room service on a port day - love the "wake up" call when they are ready to deliver and have never had a problem with food temperature or correctness. Note - while it is "free" you should tip a few dollars depending on the size of the order. We also enjoy a nice cheese tray and some wine in the late afternoon. AF-1 Posted April 8, 2011 #17 Share Posted April 8, 2011 I don't think anyone, including me, will go hungry on Freedom. And I stand corrected; jade is part of Windjammer; it is free; just another section
