handful4mom Posted May 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Help!! We are going on RC Freedom of the Seas 6/26 sailing...Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Caymans and Cozumel, spending a couple of days previously in Orlando. How hot/ rainy is it usually? What kind of clothes should we pack.....you are looking at Northern California people with no humidity and rain most summers..maybe 80 most days! :p Last time I was in Florida in the summer, hot, humid and rainy...how does one calm the frizzy hair too? Any help always appreciated! Thanks!;)
luddite Posted May 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Assume hot. Lots hotter than you're used to. Well, actually a LOT hotter than you're used to. In February it gets 85-90 degrees. In July it's hotter. You won't need a jacket.

Rare Keith1010 Posted May 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2011 If you have ever been to Florida in the summer that is what the weather will be like. With the humidity it will feel hot. During the daytime think very Hot so brings shorts and t shirt and other short sleeve shirts. Again think Florida. Keith

Texas Tillie Posted May 26, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2011 And don't forget that you'll be in hurricane season. It's the early part, but big ones can still happen then - so your itinerary could change.
cb at sea Posted May 26, 2011 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Just pull your hair back during the day...and try not to worry about "frizzing"...if humidity does that to your hair (humidity makes mine go straight!!) At night, when you're inside the ship where there's AC, you can fix your hair up nicely!
sail7seas Posted May 26, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2011 It will be very hot and humid and fabulous beach weather. The water is so warm, the snorkeling will be wonderful and we adore the Caribbean in the summer. We are so sorry HAL no longer sails the Caribbean for almost a full six months of the year. We always sailed two weeks in the Caribbean every summer and miss it. (We only sail HAL.) Bring your most summery, lightest weight clothing. Enjoy. It'll be great. MMMD Posted May 26, 2011 #9 Share Posted May 26, 2011 It's going to be very hot! Wear a lot of sunscreen and bring a hat. I usually put my hair in a pony tail or braid and have a hat on. Tank tops, shorts or light cotton sun dresses are perfect. Have fun!
lakeguy Posted May 26, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Leave your longjohns at home, rain isn't a big problem usually dosen't last too long. All the ladies will be dealing with the same hair problems so just relax and enjoy your cruise. Lou
