cello56 Posted September 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2011 I am confused. On our Liberty cruise, the E2 and D3 cabins cost more then the E1 and D1 cabins. Any guess as to the reason for this? They are aobut $80 pp more for a four night cruise.

Rare island lady Posted September 3, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2011 On my NYE Monarch cruise, I found the SOV cabins were now priced less than an F1 or F2 cabin. Gave myself an upgrade. ;)
Nan1052 Posted September 3, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2011 When the cruise lines want to fill higher categories, they will drop the pricing below the lower categories as incentives to fill those. As someone mentioned, supply/demand. Consider yourself lucky!

We were happy to take it! :)
cello56 Posted September 3, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Normally I would be thrilled to upgrade to a higher level cabin for less money, however this cruise we have a center hump cabin and don't want to lose it. I was just hoping that there would be a price drop on the E2's as well. Oh well, the hump is worth the extra money - at least I hope it is!! The E2's were down to $419 a couple of weeks ago. We are also sticking with our E2, thought of moving to a D cabin but decided against it.

Once our party of six switched from two connecting ocean-views to three E1 balconies . . . and saved big in doing so. It pays to check out all your options. Frequently.
