LMT- has anyone found another way around their system?

Maybe it's just because you seem to cruise so often--lucky you! (Or, that's my perception).

I bet Jacksonville beats Miami hands down for quality of life.

Hi, well, not too sure about that.....if you follow the news we have

been tops in the "Murder Capital Category":rolleyes:.....yes, here in Jax.

Not sure about this year yet.....(overall).

We moved here in 1965 so I am basically a native.

Both parts of the state have their good/bad things...

Whoa, 'Murder Capitol'? Sometimes (ok, most of the time) I'm glad I live in a rural area.I would not have thought of Jacksonville that way.

Downers; we have to fly anywhere to cruise and the winters can be brutal. It's just starting to cool down and I'm already missing summer. Also, have to drive 2.5 hours for decent shopping. (We have a basic mall and discount stores 17 miles away.)

Yes, well, not sure if that title stands today (one can only hope it

is not). We have a population over 1 million and though we have beaches

and some sights to see, we are a working city...lots of blue collar jobs

and a major military presence....we have 2 large Navy Bases. Not the

"melting pot" of South Florida.

But we do have some good shopping:) have a wonderful mall that is

one of the new ones with the stores outside.....lots of restaurants

keep opening up!

oops...sorry we got off topic....back to the Last Minute Travel

questions!

Never used LMT before, just tried to book something in Port Canaveral for our cruise next month and it comes back saying there are any hotels....is that typical of LMT?
I'm not sure which city you typed in, but try Cocoa Beach. We stayed in Titusville one time and it was about 30 minute drive to the port. The drive was nice, but I don't think I would stay in Titusville again unless the price was right ;)

I wasn't familiar with LMT before reading this thread. Not being a fan of bidding sites like Priceline or Hotwire, I was surprised to find a hotel in FLL for $200 less on LMT than what I can get it direct. The best part is it is not limited to last minute travel. We are looking at dates next August. I recognized the room pics and the specific type of "tower" room and knew it was the hotel I was seeking. It's funny because there are hints in either the description or actual photos that can give it away (i.e., the Westin has a huge welcome mat stating its name in one of the pics).

Thanks to the OP for starting this thread!
