Day 45: Arrival into Singapore;

Goodd Morning from the sleppy Legend. We took on our pilot approx. 30 minutes ago and are within Singaporian waters now making our way very slowly into Singapore. These shipping lanes have a lot of sea traffic this morning. I went up to the Early Morning Risers Coffee for the last time this morning at 6:15am...not a soul there but me! It was so sad to be enjoying my last coffee on the Legend after 45 days. Wow what can I say, 45 days later, 115 000 hits on this blog, mayhem, pot smoking heatens, rolex wearing Dutch heatens, rug rats abound, drunken seniors, half naked grandpas...all in one trip!

The Veranda Cafe and the Restaurant are both open this morning for breakfast from 7:00am until 9:00am. We must vacate our Suites by 8:00am in 1.5 hours time and last call to disembark should be around 9:30am. We will try and stay onboard until the very last minute since we have flights at 15:55pm this afternoon.

I would like to thank eaach and every crew member that we came accross in these past 45 days and would like to specifically mention those people below that always kept us laughing and continously pampered us for the past 45 days. The Legend will always remain in our hearts as a special ship whereby the crew was almost like Family.

Special Thanks to:

Guillaume Colas Hotman

ST - So very nice of you to recognize many excellent Seabourn men and women. I am familiar with several of them ... they are what sets Seabourn apart from the competition.

I've enjoyed your daily postings. Safe travels home.

Day 45: Singapore Changi Airport

Well we got off the Legend shortly after 9:00am this morning and took a taxi cab to the airport and it took no less than 25 minutes to Singapore's Changi International Terminal 1 awaiting our Thai Airways flight here in the Royal Orchid Lounge for another 4 hours...Mama Mia it's going to be a long day.

We had such a great time onboard for these past 45 days that we dropped by the Hotel Manager's Office to say thank you and wish him well and to continue taking his vitamins and that hopefully as more time goes by he may have some easier cruises ahead of himself. Michael Simon the Maitre'd was there as well and we thanked him for all the great attention and service we received from his Staff onboard the Legend.

The Legend may not be the fanciest ship or biggest but what it may lack in terms of bells and whistles it certainly makes up with it's entire crew in providing EXCELLENT customer service. I will no doubt return at some point to the Legend.

Gosh...almost 117K hits...can't believe the interest in this thread!;):D;)

It has been one of the most entertaining threads I have ever read. The reporting on India was fascinating alone,...and then the drama on ship was unheard of at least to me! Maybe it has gone on on other cruises but no one reported it in the continuing manner that you did that made it so interesting for all of us to see how it ultimately ended! I do think the good guys won out! Do have a safe trip home, and we are envious that you are so soon back on the Quest. We so enjoyed the TA in November, great ship and personnel!

Thanks for the kind words. Take good care of the Odyssey, as she will be our home away from home later this Nov for 55 days from Dubai to Auckland. I am counting on you to report daily on your thread and will be following you. Hope you enjoyed the GrandMa Cake on the Odyssey as much as my waisteline did on the Legend!;)

We are currently sitting in our Singapore hotel room and are just about to leave to embark on our very first Seabourn cruise on the Legend. We have certainly found this blog to be very entertaining, and reading it has really got us off to a grand start! Thanks for posting all of your trials and tribulations.

Now...we are off to the Legend!

Turtlemichael...A.K.A. Mr. Pitt and Cruise...Joel was disembarking today and heading home after finishing his contract. He had me in stitches for 45 days non-stop.:D

He is definitely an acquired taste but a tremendous asset to Seabourn. And he is French with a sense of humor!

Seabourn Traveller. That you for entertaining me these 45 days. I know look forward to Kiltie posting until I board the end of February. Then I will try to keep you entertained, but I know I can't compete with you or Granny Lorr. I followed along every day, several times a day, laughing most of the way ; ignoring the housekeeping and other duties that are now upon me. Wishing you a good trip home and safe journeys.

jagi, glad you enjoyed now get back to business and be a little "dirt devil' and whip that house back into shape!;)

We are now on the ground in Bangkok waiting for our connection to Delhi...good gosh I had totally forgot that on the way back we had to go thru India again to get home!...YIKES:eek:

have to say when we got here on the ground in Bangkok, there was a little Thai Airways person with an electrical golf cart waiting for us and drove us to the Royal Orchid First Class Lounge. (maybe they thought we were 90 years old and on our last breaths ...who knows?) We now are on the ground for 3 hours and will get a massage here in the lounge and eat some authentic Thai Cuisine...a little chef comes to your table and cooks everything for you "a la minute"...like Seabourn in the skies!

Stay tuned more to come later!

Further Update In Transit in Delhi Indira International Airport:rolleyes:

Well after 4.5 hours of bliss in the air with Thai Airways we are now on the ground in Delhi for 2 hours ...(ohhh memories of Kingfisher Airlines to the Taj Mahal) and the people and chaos once again in this airport at 11:45pm at night is unbelievable...searches, pat downs, more pat downs and more searches, CIFS Agents stampng boarding cards and re-stamping boarding cards...could you say "Make Work Projects" or what? Our flight with Swiss is showing on-time leaving in less than 2 hours time. Surprisingly, I still feel fresh as a "Winter Strawberry"..LOL

We'll now going to check the food here in the "Premium Plaza Lounge"...trust me there's nothing "Premium" about it...put it to you all into perspective...those stale nibbles and sandwiches that they serve on embarkation day look like a gourmet meal!

More to come on our adventure getting back to North America...stay tuned!

Of course, the bad news.....I had to prepare my luncheon, myself ! Plus, not a waiter in sight ~

Safe flight home!

Hello fairbourne...thats what happens when you book tickets on Frequent Flyer miles...believe it or not it wasnt easy findng two seats in First Class for our travel dates and destinations...already booked seats for the Odyssey in November the day they became available. LOL

Just about to leave the lounge soon to catch our last flight home.

Just a suggestion...for the ST Fan Club could we make a pay per view site that way it would fund more cruising on Seabourn for us.:D

That explains it! First, Club is really hard to get on popular routes especially BA, but we (that's the royal me as in me!) were lucky and I managed to get our First Class round trip to Australia later this year with BA miles! The DH owes me big time LOL!

LOL! Great idea! :D:D

Safe flight friend:)
