Pam in CA Posted October 30, 2012 #151 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Ha! I would hardly call the end of October Hurricane season! LolYou're absolutely right. That's because it officially ends November 31st. Some of the worst hurricanes on record have occurred the end of October. Wilma, for example, in 2005, the same year as Katrina. Wilma hit Florida with winds of up to 110mph, I believe on October 24th. Just ask anyone from southern FL about Wilma and they'll give you an earful. :)
dot73 Posted October 30, 2012 #152 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Bekachan and Yogimax have been whining about the compensation issue on more than one thread. I bet there are many passengers on the Explorer of the Seas that would happily be in the Boston harbour just about now. No doubt, there will be some passengers attempting to get compensation because the EOS sailed out into the storm. You book a cruise during hurricane season, you have to be willing to take the risks. Two people have lost their precious lives on a sailship while the brave men and women of the Coast Guard put their lives at risk rescuing 12 others. There is at least one person dead because of the storm. Give it a rest people, be happy you are safe and sound. No one can predict what Mother Nature will do. TheBestIsYetToCome Posted October 30, 2012 #153 Share Posted October 30, 2012 Folks who didn't, and who purchased Princess insurance, could cancel and stay home. Why should passengers who made a decision to save the expense of insurance get the same treatment? I have answered this question several times in my previous posts. Let me know if I haven't been clear.
