$49pp upsell for verandah - cruise a week away!

This may be a crazy question, but here goes.....

Right now we are in a cat G (cabin 4063 partial obstructed view) and are totally happy with that category as we just want light in the room.

We just got an offer for $49.00 per person (total $98 for the offer!) to upgrade to a verandah cat VB (cabin 6039) or VE (cabin 5077).

Are we crazy not to take it for the $98?? And if we take it, which verandah cabin on the Zuiderdam would be better?

Yes - you'd be CRAZY not to take it. Run - don't walk!

Of course, you aren't crazy. :D

Only you can decide if it is worth it to you but I cannot imagine it wouldn't be worth it.

That's a great deal. Think about pouncing on it....... quickly. ;)

JMO.....

Take it. You will love the extra light in your room and having a private place all to yourself outdoors is wonderful. Take a look at the deck plan to see if either choice matters - what is above, below and sideways.

We just take pot luck with our locations and nothing has ever mattered to us in this regard. But a verandah, any verandah, over an obstructed ocean view would be a huge benefit for us. I think you got a great offer. Hope you enjoy it.

We got the same upsell offer last month about 3 weeks before our "Nieuw Amsterdam" cruise. We were also in category G and were offered any available verandah cabin from category V to VH for $49 pp (for a two-week cruise). We chose a VA cabin in a good location and enjoyed the verandah. The decision to accept the upsell was easy.:)

Take it, take it, take it. You said the Zuiderdam right, well I would go with VB 6039. Very close to the elevators/stair case.

I agree with Melodie 100%. VB6039 is a bit of a walk to the MDR and Lido, but think of it this way - you will burn off a lot of calories coming and going. Enjoy and Take It. :)

We got the email and called about what cabins were available last night - but right when they were closing at 5pm Pacific time and couldn't make a snap decision. :o She said to call back first thing when they open on Monday if we want to make the change.

We hesitated because we were all happy with the cabin we already have and the price we paid. We usually don't care if we have a balcony. Plus, in the good old days when we got upgraded it was at no additional charge.

We have until Monday am to decide for sure, if it is still available.

Either way, next week we'll be cruising! :D

Keep watching your email, maybe they will offer you something else. That was the first offer we got, too. Then we got a 2nd offer for $99pp and then finally this last one.

See you on-board.... Do you think I should give up on thinking I might hear from the Fairy?
