If you want to stay on your balcony maybe I could bring my guitar and sing the song for you. You get the best of both worlds.:D

Lol, that sounds like a really nice idea...my daughter is bringing her hammock, never mind 70s night, we will just recreate the 70s Kumbaya! ;)

Looking for some reasonable priced things to do at the ports (St Kitts, St Thomas, Curacao & Aruba). Don't mind booking myself and not thru RC. Going March 29th.

For St Thomas- you can easily take a short ferry to Water Island for a few dollars (Google it, the schedule and where to pick it up is online) and walk up the hill and down the dirt road to the right to Honeymoon Beach. (Maybe 1/2 mile) It's not fancy, more like a local park (no charge) and it won't have lots of chair rentals or umbrellas, but there are rustic rest rooms and a bar! The water is very calm and its a very nice "vibe". I have photos in my Oasis review- linked in my signature below.

St Kitts: take a taxi to CarMbola BeCh reort. It is beautiful I think the taxi is so,etching like $8 pp and I think you get 2 beach chairs and umbrella for something like $25. It's the nicest reort I have ever been to for just one day. You. An look on the web and email them to presreserve. Or of you are wanting an is,and tour, search Jom and urges taci service. They are very reasonable and will customize a tour for you.

st Thomas: take a taxi into town $5 recharge ey. Walk around the shops and vendor's market. Eat lunch at Greengos or Greenhouse.

Your balcony could become the envy, and hot spot, of the entire ship!

You know, I have never gone out to Water Island on any of our returns to St. Thomas. I might just keep that in mind for our next visit there.

Has anyone done a B2B on Adventure? We are doing that in July. Do we have to get off the ship in San Juan the morning our first cruise ends or can we stay on? I've heard various stories including that we have to go to a certain location and be 'counted' so the ship head count is zero for that cruise.

Do we use the same sail and sign card?

Can we go off the ship, do some tourist stuff and then get back on easily?

Is the Windjammer open for lunch on Saturday?

Is there anywhere else on ship that is open for lunch?

Is the MDR menu the same each week?

===============================================

You have to leave the ship temporarily to show your passport to custom agents. Not necessary to show customs form.

You will be issued a new sea pass ( sent to your room )the night before the current cruise ends, along with a business size card that says - in transit.

This is the card that you will present to the ship if you leave the ship to do some touristy things.

The WJ is open for lunch.

However, if there are enough B2B'ers a special lunch will be offered at noon in one of the MDR's.

The MDR menus are the same for dinner each week.

Also, if you are changing rooms, make sure to pack everything in your drawers and bathroom in your luggage so room attendant can move them. Hanging clothes will be moved for you.

Caution: if anything left in the bathroom - it will be thrown away. This is done by a different cleaning crew and any and all items will NEVER be seen again.

mattpro just about covered it. One other thing you will be given information on where to meet and the time for your turn around morning. All B2B'ers assemble in the same location and are escorted by one of the ships staff. Enjoy your B2B Cruise.

Looking for some reasonable priced things to do at the ports (St Kitts, St Thomas, Curacao & Aruba). Don't mind booking myself and not thru RC. Going March 29th.

St. Kitts - we took a cab to Cockleshell Beach $7 per person. The beach by the Reggae Beach bar had nice chairs, but the beach was packed. We were in the next group of chairs over and it was quieter and no seaweed - the rocks kept it out. $10 for 2 chairs and umbrella. Rustic spot, but $2 Caribs and the water was great. Great view of Nevis. There were jetskis for rent in the area. We wanted to go to Carambola, but the area was closed for a private event that day. If you want to go there, you can pre-reserve your chairs by emailing Daislyn Sharpe at dsharpe@carambolabeachclub.com. That's how I found out it was closed when we were there.

Cockleshell (notice the guy on that propelling thing...)

Curacao - took a cab to Blue Bay. The cabs are expensive here - $35 each way, so we waited and found another couple who was headed there to split cost. Our driver set a time with us and came back. She was there when we were ready. Blue Bay charges $8 per person, but we never paid anyone. Nobody asked! Nice little restaurant. Beach is VERY rocky, so I'd bring watershoes. But didn't need umbrellas - beach is covered with palm trees. Awesome.

Aruba - did a morning tour with Trikes Aruba http://www.trikes-aruba.com/ They met us right outside of the secure port area at 8:30, we drove the trikes for the morning (only 4 trikes in our group, so it was great). Went all over the island, off the beaten path. It was awesome. If you search Trikes Aruba on Facebook, they have pictures of each tour. They lead the group of trikes in a small dune buggy and the passenger of that took pics of us - and at each stop she changed our order, so everyone got to be leader of the pack - which was great for pictures! Great sites. Back to ship by 12:30. Grabbed bathing suits and hopped a cab to Moombay Beach (on Palm Beach). Chairs/umbrella were expensive - $40 for 2 chairs and one umbrella, but it was WELL worth it - you need the umbrella there!! Restaurant where we were and had lunch. Then walked to Pelican's Nest for drinks. Nice bar - great bartenders. Beautiful beach - walked to shops - bought a cute Aruba Pandora charm. Took the bus back. If I went to Aruba again, I'd absolutely take public bus to Palm Beach. Bus Depot is in town across from Diamonds International. Easy, safe and cheap.

St. Thomas - we had a wedding on Magen's Bay, so we didn't do anything but that. But when I go to STT, we grab a cab to Magen's for the beach or Emerald Beach. Both nice.

Have fun!

Hi,

I posted this question earlier and I'm not sure if I posted it in the right place.

So here it is again.

Does anyone know if you can redeem a Royal Caribbean gift card/gift certificate on board? I have received one from my credit card company as a perk.

I know that you can use them to pay for your cruise, but we have already paid for our cruise and was wondering if we can use the gift card/gift certificate on board to purchase things. For example drinks....

Hi Cel64, I purchased a gift certificate for my best man who will be sailing with us on our wedding cruise.. As I remember they can be used for on board credit, BUT you have to redeem them before the cruise. I will look for the details, but I think you have to put it on your reservation at least 14 days prior. I will check and reply again.

Does anyone know how to get a day pass to the St. Kitts Marriott? I called the 800 number listed for them but they didn't have any information on day passes. Thanks for your help.

================================================

According to poster Max's Mom (Jane) all you have to do is take a taxi to the Marriott and they will sell you a day pass for use of the facilities for a fee.

Believe the fee to be either $30 or $35 for each (includes beach - palapas/lounges, pool and use of bar/restaurant (believe credit card is needed).

Never seems to be crowded and sometimes feels like your own private beach.

Personally, have stayed there when it initially opened. The beach and property are actually gorgeous.

However, the water is quite "wavy" and if you're looking for shells - they're non-existent. If you walk along the beach to the left, which ends next to the golf course, the sand turns to the black volcanic ash, if memory serves me correctly.

I am taking the southern route(Barbados ,St. Lucia, St. Martin, Antigua, St. Croix) on April 5, can someone refer me to which pages talk about the best excursions? There are just too many pages to read through and I don't think anyone wants to repeat themselves. Also any tips on the AOS. I have done the EOS 3X so I know the ship pretty well. Any differences?

Thanks:)

Regarding differences, Adventure has the pool big screen TV, Giovanni's Table, and pervasive WiFi.

Better not be no refurb or RC forgot to tell us something because we are sailing on the 26th :D

We're on the 26th too

The refurb is actually scheduled on this cruise and the changes will be effective for the 2nd leg starting May 3rd

The main change is Giovanni's/Portofino

I'm sure they will do some carpets etc.

The dry dock will be later in the year to get rid of the in line track and put in a flowrider

Perhaps check your roll call for excursions already planned by some. Also check the caribbean forum for each island, you can get ideas there.

On my roll call, many are planning catamaran sails on Barbados, Cosul island tour on St. Lucia, Stingray City on St. John's, Marigot and Maho Beach on St. Maarten, Freedom City Beach Bar,Rainbow Beach, Sandcastles hotel on St. Croix

We sail 2 weeks prior to your April 5 sailing. Will try to give a small review of the ship and excursions we're taking

Thanks for the info. My roll call is pretty lame! The person who started it isn't going on the cruise anymore so it's been really quiet. In contrast, my last year's roll call was so great that some of us are still chatting almost a year later! I was disappointed so I came over here.

Wow, too expensive ! I guess I will have to wait until St. Croix to get wifi on the island. I assume its like St. Thomas being a U.S. Territory.

Yes, as far as AT&T is concerned, St. Croix is like being on the mainland. not sure about other carriers.
