Splendor is almost "home"

Checked my ShipMate app this morning and I see that the Splendor is off the coast of Virginia. I'm guessing it will dock in NYC tomorrow morning, because she sails again 3/23.

 

So welcome to NY Splendor and around the Horn adventurers! I'm hoping that all of the people on her first NY sailings will report back to those of us who sail later - like me in June. Let us know what she's like, what you did, where you went - please, please, please. I'm going nuts waiting! And if you sailed the Miracle or Legend from NY how is the Splendor different - besides being bigger.

Kath- I did an update to ship mate as someone suggested and surprise my ship has been found!

 

I had found it yesterday and the day before hiding among the "palm trees" in the Caribbean. I think the problem was when it left SA and crossed into more open water. I really have no clue - I'm just surmising :D

 

But I was quite surprised to see it so close this morning!

Agreed, Cyber Kat! Going on the 6/26 sailing out of NYC on Splendor. Would love to hear any reviews/tips/comments, etc. from the folks who are sailing on the Splendor out of NYC before the end of June! Thanks! :p

I'll be on Splendor on the Jan 20, 2014 Florida/Bahamas sailing. It is a long way off but I look forward to the reviews and pics. I would like to know all of the services/bars/eateries/entertainment offered on this Splendor class ship.

There are already 7 reviews posted pertaining to the first two segments of the South American cruises. Four of the reviews are negative (either 1 or 2 stars) and three reviews are positive or somewhat positive (4 stars).

I just did the 15 Hawaii cruise right before the repositioning cruise. Anything you need to know...let me know.

We leave on the Splendor 7 weeks from today for an 8-Day...Can't wait. I'd love to see some menus if anyone has them from a recent cruise!! We have plans to eat at the steak house one night and I want to make sure it isn't the night they have chateau briand (spelling?) on the menu...one of my favorites!!

 

We are really looking forward to this cruise and I only read the positive reviews. When I read the ones with only one or two stars and they blame every little thing on Carnival from the weather to the motion of the ocean it just turns me off!!

Are you asking about the Dream? We're talking about the Splendor coming in to NY - hope there isn't any confusion.

Thanks for trying, but I've read those reviews. Sorry - a long rant about the boarding process in Long Beach, doesn't help us on the east coast. I got a little information, from the others, but not enough and much of it doesn't equate because we won't be doing those ports.

 

I want to know what's happening going forward. New port for the ship - new ship for those of us who cruise from NY. How's NY treating the Splendor - how's the Splendor treating NY. I'm hoping the crew is excited to be in the Big Apple - new start all around! New is good!

 

So are all you March 23 people champing at the bit and ready to go?

A great spot to be is on deck 9 AFT. You have to walk completely thru the buffet room. There is a pool, two hot tubs, a bar, the Deli and other stuff. This is great because no one under 18 is allowed back there....AND you get the most beautiful views. If you are a smoker...just walk right up the stairs there to deck 10 (which over looks deck 9 Aft). There are tables and chairs where everyone hangs out.
