Will be taking our firsr cruise to Alaska in September. Plan to stay overnight in Vancouver and would like to be close to terminal. Any suggestions for my husband and I.

There are also two Fairmont Hotels very near the pier that are awesome. If you are looking to spend a little less $ there are also a Marriott and a Delta on W. Hastings which should be a little less.

My wife and I enjoy the Pan Pacific. We appreciate their service of delivering bags to the ship.

We're going in August and selected Pan Pacific, literally a part of Canada Place and well situated from the train from the airport. We got our deal on Priceline.

Hotel prices in Vancouver can be pretty pricey during cruise season. Last year we stayed a bit back from the port at the Blue Horizon. Its a boutique style hotel with very nice rooms and each room has a balcony. In house restaurant though you are within walking distance of masses of places to eat plus shopping.

 

Also, the Vancouver Trolley company has a stop right outside the door so if you plan on doing some touring using them the location couldnt be much better. Prices were probably half of what you pay to be near the terminal.

Personally would take either Fairmount over the Pan Pacific especially if you book the Club floors. It's a wonderful experience.:)

We stayed here a few years ago, Delta, in Gas Town. Great room. Really nice little area. SHORT taxi ride to the terminal.

 

It's the only time we'd been to the area, so can't say how it compares to other hotels but we really enjoyed it.

I posted this question last year as we wanted some time in Vancouver before our Pacific coastal cruise. We were recommended the Blue Horizon as it was a short ride to the port and close to downtown. It was brilliant, really lovely and quite reasonable. We had stunning views as we were on a high floor. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it.

Agreed, ranked #36 of 97 in Vancouver hotels on TA, with a 4 star rating. A hidden gem for discount travel to Vancouver.

My DH is a Marriott man so we always stay at the Marriott Pinnacle a couple of blocks away. We always take a taxi from the airport, the last time we did it, it ran about 40.00 plus tip.

 

What cruise are you on in Sept? If it is the Sept 8th Century cruise, don't for get to join us on the ROLL CALL and sign up for the cruise connection party.

Will be on the Sapphire Princess 9/21 because we wanted to Glacier Bay. Otherwise would have selected Celebrity. Sailed Med on the Equinox 10/5/12 and fell in love with cruising. Don't think will love any ship as much as the Equinox. Funny, we're Marriott Reward members but had some cioncerns about the Marriott being far from the port. Perhaps we should reconsider and get those points.

Whether you stay at the Delta suites or the Marriott your distance is about the same - there are three Marriott branded hotels in the downtown core - the Pinnacle and the Renaissance are across the street from each other while the Residence Inn is about 12 blocks further uptown.

Here's another recommendation for the Blue Horizon. We stayed there two nights in May and loved it. For our cruise next May we first decided to bust the budget and stay at the Pan Pacific. Then our $$ heads took over and we booked the Blue Horizon again for almost half what we were going to pay at the Pan Pacific.
