tbmrt Posted August 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2013 Wondering if I should wait til more of our Roll Call members have signed up on CC before we book our private excursions. Would like to try to arrange for more passengers in a tour by van so the cost would be lower. Worried about being shut out of some excursions if we wait too long though. How long beforehand to you book your private excursions? Thanks Barbara
CruiserBruce Posted August 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2013 Assume you are talking about your December cruise? As it is just over three months away, I think it is time to start. Remember, not everyone can see the cruises listed in your signature- it is an on or off feature. Knowing the timeline involved is important to your question. Rare Keith1010 Posted August 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2013 I wouldn't wait if you are talking about a December cruise. Keith
paul929207 Posted August 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2013 Start now. You can always add others later if the vehicle is not full
dorisis Posted August 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2013 Do it now. Some excursions fill up very quickly.
OVgirl Posted August 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2013 You should probably ask the people on your rollcall.
5326jan Posted August 24, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2013 I like to do the research, find the operators with best recommendations here and on TripAdvisor and book them for the size group that I want to be on. Once the roll call gets going, it's easy to find people to join your tour. I've booked for popular guides more than a year out or as soon as they'll start accepting bookings. Just take the total amount to be paid and divide it by the number of people you want. I never give myself a discount for arranging the tour or other types of advantages.... other than getting the guide we want to use! We also prefer to be in small groups of 8, occasionally 10 and rarely 12.
