Pam in CA Posted September 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2013 With 2 people in a stateroom is their a discount coupon book for each person? Thanks! Tom:) Don't worry about it. It's useless unless you're already planning on spending piles in the spa, on photos, etc. They are mostly good as coasters.

Dayenu Posted September 13, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2013 With 2 people in a stateroom is their a discount coupon book for each person? Thanks! Tom:) If this is the first cruise for both - zero books. If this is second cruise for both - 2 books. If this is 2nd cruise for one, first for another - 1 book. MCC retired Posted September 13, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I wonder if Princess understands just how poorly received these "coupon books" (including the extra book that TA's offer thru their Princess Cruise Sales) are ? Total waste of paper . Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
paul929207 Posted September 13, 2013 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2013 If they were printed on softer paper, they could be of use in the bathroom, but alas they are too rough
culvercitycruiser Posted September 13, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I just got off of the Golden Princess on Sunday. I got both the Discount Book from Princess along with one from my travel agent. Both books are useless. If you spend big money, you can get a 10% on jewelry etc. I could not believe how bad that were until I went through them. There was absolutely nothing of value. I was hoping for some kind of coffee or soda or photo discount. Nothing. Everything everyone has written about how useless they are true. Enjoy your cruise. ar1950 Posted September 13, 2013 #13 Share Posted September 13, 2013 I remember on our Carnival cruise 13 years ago we got a "goodie" bag with a few free things and a coupon book. The coupon book had one worthwhile coupon which was a two-for-one drink coupon. There also was a disposable razor (man's razor in mine and woman's razor in wife's) and a few other real "valuable" trinkets. The bag was a Carnival Cruise line bag, but, I don't know if it came from the travel agent or the cruise line. Have never seen anything like it since.
Happy2cruise Posted September 13, 2013 #14 Share Posted September 13, 2013 "Discount" books are of no value:eek:. Amazing that Princess has not realized this yet as I'm sure not many take advantage of the coupons.
SeaTheWorldBySea Posted September 13, 2013 #15 Share Posted September 13, 2013 Princess should save the money they spend printing those books. Surely they know from the number redeemed that they are of no value to most passengers.
ar1950 Posted September 13, 2013 #16 Share Posted September 13, 2013 "Discount" books are of no value:eek:. Amazing that Princess has not realized this yet as I'm sure not many take advantage of the coupons. We always thought that Diamonds International paid for them because they always had the coupon that said "Bring this coupon into any of our stores and receive a free pair of stud earrings with real diamond chips in them." We got suckered in the first time. They looked like they came out of a Cracker Jacks box. The wife gave them to one of her young nieces.
bjkTX Posted September 14, 2013 #17 Share Posted September 14, 2013 Oh how I miss the 2 for 1 coffee card offer. It was the only thing in the book that had value to me:(! But that wasn't even in the book Princess hands out to everyone - that was in the one we got from our TA.

Cruisin' Chick Posted September 14, 2013 #19 Share Posted September 14, 2013 I think there was two different coupon books in our cabin last December. But I had too many other things to do the first day, such as explore the ship and relax. I think a few days later I was looking at the desk where they were sitting and flipped through one. The only coupon of interest was about adding time to an Internet package, but you had to do this the first day or so. But the package we purchased pre-cruise actually had enough minutes for our use, so big whoop. We don't bother with dropping money in the casino, spa, etc. so the buy one, get one coupons were of no use to us.
canadarocks Posted September 14, 2013 #20 Share Posted September 14, 2013 Wow, I was hoping it was different on Princess ships! We've had 5 cruises on Holland America and their coupon books are useless too!!
