Here they go again, in Feb 2015 there will a clothing optional charter on the Connie. First the Nieuw Amsterdam now the Connie. When will it end!:D

What exactly, is the problem? Did you get bumped from the cruise?

I think the main problem is seeing too many ends.

The porters will be upset by the lack of luggage tips. The crew will be happy because they don't have to load and unload luggage.

Cruise critic posters will be upset because they won't be able to criticize those who don't dress formal. ;)

I wonder what the dress code is for dining on that cruise?

Would formal night be different that the other nights that are casual?

It would be interesting to be on a ship docked across from them at the ports.

I don't mind what you do in your home or on vacation BUT (no pun intended:D) I hope the nudists are putting a towel on the seat or lounge chair they are using both in their staterooms and in public areas. Just the thought of it gives me the willies (again no pun intended :D).

Yes there will be many ends, but also LOTS of luggage. Nudist like to play dress up. And they tip well.

Formal nights require a white, creased, towel. Smart casual nights will see lots of pastels.

I think many would be shocked at what types of charters their cruise lines of choice accommodate. Last time we were on Azamara, we heard from a bartender about an upcoming charter that makes a nudist charter seem pretty tame in comparison. A cruise line is a business like any other, and if a charter group is willing to pay the costs to accommodate their needs, it makes business sense to do so. I would not be surprised to hear that this type of charter comes with some hefty cleaning surcharges.

As a shareholder, I'm all for it. :)

I love that posters brag about being a "member of the balcony club" but get bent out of shape at the thought of a clothing optional cruise. There is a very interesting thread from a man who worked and attended a lifestyle chartered cruise on RCCL. He explained that on his charter, while clothing was optional during the day, evenings were themed and very dressy.

Most charters command top dollar from those who book and in this case, the entire ship will be sold as the charter.

We sailed in Jan. 2010 just before a nude cruise . There was a lot of talk onboard . The crew took 'sensitivity' training. Some crew were taking time off.. for religious reasons.

There are many rules and yes one of them is sitting on a towel . The other is that you must dress in dining areas

FYI, they dress for dinner and have to be covered up in all restaurants and casino.

There are a lot of "unusual" charters on ships. There was a cross dressers cruise and believe me, those guys knew how to dress. Talk about formal nights? They were absolutely beautiful and I don't think there was a sequin left on earth after those guys put on the Ritz.

There was also a "swingers" cruise, but I don't remember which line it was on.

Not So, dress is required in the MDR ONLY, all other venues are clothing optional. That means casino, Lido, bars and show lounge all C.O.

I'm not a germophobe by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think some kind of covering should be required in food service areas regardless of the kind of cruise it is. I'm thinking specifically of the buffet...I don't like it on a clothing required cruise when people don't cover up properly before they start selecting food, so I seriously doubt I'd be too excited to see completely naked bodies in the serving line!
