How do we get a dining table with a view?

Is there a special secret as to the best way to get a decent dining table on a cruise? This will be our 4th cruise (1st on Celebrity) and our last table (on Royal Caribbean) was horrible -- tight quarters next to the kitchen, etc...

We would love to be next to a window or in the center of the room.

Thank you :)

E-mail the RM on the ship requesting the required table position.;)

We went to the dining room as we were not notified of the number, it should have been in the stateroom, we asked if it was possible for a window table and was shown one straight away in the quiet dining area, there were only 2 tables in use, it suited us great even though we were practically on our own

How about if you have any-time dining? We will be on a Baltic in June, so actually there will be a view at dinner, since the sun is up quite late. Would you just ask when you show up?

Yes, that would be the thing to do:).....sometimes they have window tables available and sometimes they don't.

We are on an Alaskan cruise and there will be light into the evening, thus the desire for a window. :)

Who is the RM and how do I email him?

Every ship has a different Restaurant Manager. It is actually the

Maitr'd who handles seating and my best suggestion is to go to see

him after you board the ship. They are outside of the dining room

during the afternoon hours on embarkation day.

Whetehr you are Traditional seating or Select, a visit with the Matre' de will possibly help you get the table you want. They are usually very accommodating.:D

Dine in the buffet or get room service and have it on the balcony.

We have done a few Alaskan cruises thru the inside passage. The first mile looks the same as the rest of the strait.

Wouldn't be too concerned about the view if you don't get it as you won't miss much considering that you will have the of the evening to see the same.

Chose Select Dining and eat at 6PM. Ask for a window table and you should get one.

Dine in Tuscan Grille (upcharge) and ask for a window table. Watching the wake as you eat is amazing.

If you have a set time, go right after you board and ask to see your table. If you do not like it ask that you be moved.

This didn't work for us last cruise. We requested a table for 2, and got a table for 4. It actually was a table for 2 but had a large plywood top on it to make it a table for 4. I almost tipped the whole top off the 2nd night. The next night it had magically changed to a table for 2. It turned out to be one of the better tables we've had - we weren't very close to any other table like normal.
