panmalv Posted May 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2014 There is a post on the roll call for this week's Summit to Bermuda that says Aqua Class passengers were "ushered right to Blu" on embarkation. There was a special brunch menu -- the menu photo is not legible but folks describe a mix of breakfast and lunch foods. This sounds like a very nice idea -- I hope they keep it up! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1854471&page=
prim8keeper Posted May 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Very interesting! We are on Summit next month. I too hope they keep this going and eventually make it fleet wide. There was nothing like this on our cruise in February.
TexSea Posted May 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2014 That is a great idea. I too hope they keep it up. Though embarkation is the only time we ever eat at Bistro on 5. Last time it was packed. But delicious.
jayoldschool Posted May 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Great idea. We were bumped to AQ last cruise, and we'll book it again.
jelayne Posted May 15, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Nice to read a post about something new being tried. Hope this continues, would be a great alternative for those in Blu.
chamima Posted May 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) There goes the only day I'm hungry enough to eat lunch in Bistro on 5. :p Seriously, it'll be SO nice to have somewhere quiet to start the cruise. What a LOVELY new Idea! Edited May 15, 2014 by chamima
TeaBag Posted May 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2014 We will look forward to this. Nice of them to offer a lunch in Blu when it is normally closed at lunch. Thank you for posting this.
galavant3 Posted May 15, 2014 #8 Share Posted May 15, 2014 I can't tell you how happy I am to hear this...and hopeful that it is still happening in October! My goal is to never set foot in the buffet so the only option that appeals to me is Bistro 5 (which would be perfectly fine). Thanks for sharing! Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted May 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) Cool! That will take some of the load off the other dining venues. P.S. Celebrity, this is a great change! Not all change is bad. :) Edited May 15, 2014 by Happy Cruiser 6143
Italy52 Posted May 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 15, 2014 We are in AQ class on the Millennium next month -- hopefully, Blu will be open for us on embarkation day. Just wondering though ---- if Blu has tables so close together, where would everyone put their carry-on luggage while dining??????????
cynbar Posted May 15, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 15, 2014 Add me to the list of those who think this is a great idea. I would love to see it on Reflection on May 23rd, the buffet and upper decks are always such a zoo on embarkation day. Celebrity, I hope you are listening......... Gracie115 Posted May 15, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 15, 2014 I'd like to hear Celebrity Cruises come on here and verify that this is a fleetwide change and not just the Summit trying something out....
Rare agathasmum Posted May 15, 2014 #13 Share Posted May 15, 2014 This sounds great. I hope they offer it on Connie in August.

We are cruising on the Reflection in July. We will probably won't have access to this brunch as suite guests. ;) Guess that I will have to go to Bistro on 5....:)
hulamoon Posted May 15, 2014 #16 Share Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) It really is a good idea. The buffet is just insane that day. Extra Blu touches are a good idea now that the category is pricey again. We send the large carry on with the check in and just carry a small bag on board. I imagine larger luggage can find a spot. CHEZMARYLOU Posted May 15, 2014 #17 Share Posted May 15, 2014 That would be a nice addition to our upcoming Alaska cruise if available on Millennium, especially after traveling from Anchorage to Seward to embark. Mary Lou
Cindy Posted May 16, 2014 #18 Share Posted May 16, 2014 I would be delighted to be greeted with an invitation to brunch in BLU when I board the Constellation next week!:)

Italy52 Posted May 16, 2014 #20 Share Posted May 16, 2014 In the hallway outside? Sent from my Samsung Note 2 on the T-Mobile 4G LTE Network Hummmmm. Dining in Blue for lunch is a nice idea just not sure I would want to leave a carryon that might contain some valuables unattended.
MisterBill99 Posted May 16, 2014 #21 Share Posted May 16, 2014 (edited) Here's the image that was included in the other thread. It blew up much better when I read it on my Smartphone so I was able to figure out some of it. It looks like Appetizers: Can't figure out the first one, maybe polenta? House cured citrus salmon Green lentil soup Waldorf salad Entrees: Eggs Benedict Vanilla pancakes Confit duck leg salad (? not positive about it being salad) Five spice crusted tuna Cheese tart Some sort of strip loin Desserts: Warm chocolate pudding Lemon tart I'm going to be on Summit next month and just upgraded to AQ this week when the price dropped. I was planning on doing Bistro for lunch when we got on board but now we'll definitely do Blu instead. Edited May 16, 2014 by MisterBill99

hulamoon Posted May 16, 2014 #25 Share Posted May 16, 2014 I think we should just assume it is coming and let the sheer force of the thread birth it into reality. :D
