Celebrity Eclipse to Undergo Major Refurbishment

Quo Vadis?

Oh well. We enjoy Cellar Masters, but understand Celebrity's decision. The venue is often empty - except when Perry Grant is performing. I suppose a change is in their best interests. I guess Perry's headed back to the Sky Lounge. Looks like Gastrobar will eventually become a fixture on all S-Class ships.

Thanks for the link. I wonder what the new "dining venue" will be -- perhaps the Lawn Club Grill or the Porch?

That is probably the suite dining room, or the Gastrobar itself, Lawn Club Grill is only Silhouette and Reflection as Eclipse still has the Hot Glass Show.

Very glad to see this, we will be on the 1st sailing after the drydock...woo hoo!!

Not sure I understand why they picked this ship - would it not make more sense to do this to the oldest ship in the calss (Solstice) and then work their way forward? I guess they have their reasoning but I would love to know what that reasoning is!

Perhaps there is a stronger demand for the pub scene in the UK market.

It could also be determined by the availability of shipyard space on the Atlantic basin rather than Pacific. Then again it could have been determined by throwing a dart at a wall chart... ;)

Eclipse already had the drydock scheduled for that time....so it was easy to schedule this part of the refurb for that time too....Equinox had the same thing done to it during its own drydock this past April.

I think that could be referring to the Suite Dining for Suite guests.

I think that's what they are referring to (Suite Dining) as well.

Dry dock rotation. Soltice may receive the Gastrobar on her next scheduled dry dock but Eclipse was up next on the schedule.

OK, I'll expose my ignorance here: what is the difference between a "European style" roulette wheel and an "American style" one? And how does going from European style roulette to American style make the casino LESS American and more British?

There's one more "slot" for the ball to fall into on an American wheel.

37 (in French/European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) colored and numbered pockets on the wheel.

So the odds of winning just went down a bit.

We are on the sailing before the refurb. I hope it isn't going to impact us too much towards the end, especially since the last couple of days are sea days :(

Maybe they'll have constant happy-hour prices in CellarMasters to clear out the inventory! ;)

Thanks. That's why I liked CellarMasters: you drop in a "coin" and your odds of getting a payoff [in wine] are pretty good!
