Explore 4 -- Bad news, good news (for my sailing)

The bad news -- Explore 4 isn't being offered on my sailing (Noordam, Feb. 6th).

 

The good news -- I looked at pricing for the next 10-day sailing where Explore 4 IS being offered, and the cost is about $400 more for the same cabin category.

 

Would I spend $400 for drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) for a 10-day sailing? Probably not. So I guess it all works out in the end. And I think I can spring for the Pinnacle Grill if I really want it.

Glad you have a clear-cut view of what you pay for the "free" Explore4.

 

On a 10 day cruise $400 minus the charge for the Pinnacle is still a lot to drink!

I got an email from HAL announcing a $200 OBC for a cruise I was already booked on. I called my travel agent and asked if we somehow qualified for the OBC. She told me she would be happy to re-book our cabin, and give us the $200 OBC, but the fare would be $200 pp more if we re-booked. :rolleyes:

 

OK, nevermind, forget I asked. :)

Sounds like the promo some years ago on a cruise already booked. Including a Pinnacle Dinner, bathrobe to take home, one bottle of wine and a photo. Just add $250. per person. Ha ha.

I've seen the Explore 4 pricing this week and think it is out of control. We enjoy our cocktails as much as the next guy but could never justify the extra cost.

Same thing with me on an RCCL cruise. No free lunch.
