We are leaving saturday on disney dream. My question is if we hit storms what is there to do on the ship? Or will our itinerary change? :D:D:D:D

The captain will do all he can to keep the ship in the calmest waters he can. Yes, there is plenty to do onboard. Most onboard venues are indoors. I doubt that any events onboard would change due to weather. Some of the poolside activities may be cancelled or moved, but that's about all.

It's possible that an itinerary may change due to storms, but only if it's extreme, or dangerous for the ship to port.

There are some activities. They usually add a few things. There's always BINGO, movies, kids clubs for the kids. Wine/martini tastings, napkin folding class, sometimes a cooking class. Galley tour, scavenger hunts, diaper dash. Lots of different things, you won't be bored.

Unless the storm is a really bad one, they won't divert.

The ships are huge and rain only affects so much of it

And they will have lots of activities on board internally

As far as missing ports well that happens generally only with big storms do they can keep away from them

Having experienced rain in both land resorts and on cruise ships, I'm pretty confident your rainy days on the ship (should you have a long rainy period) will be more enjoyable.

There's always something to do on a ship. Take some to explore the interior of the ship more. Sit down and have a drink and listen to a solo artist or a group playing music in a venue you haven't had time for. Put on your bathing suit and enjoy the hot tub while the cool rain falls around you. Find a deck chair under an overhang and watch the weather and its effect on the sea. Look at all the artworks everywhere on the ship.

Or put on your rain jacket and stand near the bow, and let the wind and the rain beat on you. Then go back to your cabin, take a hot shower, and turn on the teevee. Doze off. That's what vacation is about too.

Been on board and in port during many rainy days. Many of the ports that attract cruise ships are in rainy regions. If it's a hurricane (or possibility of one), your captain might try to get the itinerary switched if possible (eg. Western Caribbean to Eastern and vice versa), but if it's just a tropical storm, he may just sail through.

We have had many rainy days on a cruise. Even lightning storms. Some people stayed on the ship -- others donned their rain gear and headed off the ship to do tours and whatever else they wanted to do. Many tours will not be cancelled just because of rain.

We have had our itinerary completely changed because of hurricanes.

In all the cruises I have taken, there has only been one full sea day of stormy rain. It was kind of neat, actually, not that I would want to experience it again, though. It was refreshing, cool rain, and everyone just hung out where ever they could find a nook to get in. When the rain stopped for even a minute people were in the pools. The waves were not too high, yet the ship was rocking some, and winds were howling. There were extra things going on around the ship due to being a sea day anyway, most were held indoors. Good day for naps, that kind of weather is conducive to getting drowsy.

Another time, it rained an entire day at Costa Maya, the ship people sold ponchos, I had brought my own, and went into the shopping area. It poured all day. Some excursions were cancelled, I don't think many went to the beaches either. It ended up just being a shopping day.

Your itinerary will only change because of major storms.

What do you do when it rains? Sex and copious amounts of booze come to mind.

I'd suggest gambling but last time I checked Disney has no casinos on board. Major reason why I won't sail with Mickey.
