I purchased FTTF for my upcoming cruise. I see alot of people say what's the big deal about getting on the ship earlier. I purchased it because I want to be able to go staight to my cabin. Usually I am so stressed out from packing, getting to the airport, traveling and finally boarding the ship I need a little time to decompress and catch my breath. I would like to go to my room relax and maybe grab a quick nap before heading out. Am I the only one who feels like this?

Nope, we bought it on our last two cruises and would not sail ever again without it. We LOVE it. Dropping off our carry on / water/ soda immediately. Getting on the ship earlier. Getting off earlier ( both tendered ports and debarkation ). Well worth the $ 50 IMHO

It is your vacation AND you are choosing to follow the rules about being in your cabin/ not being in your cabin. If it is worth it to you than it is worth it. If it is not worth it to you than it is not worth it.

I so agree, I hate toting my entire life around on the lido deck, makes it hard to get lunch, makes it hard to relax 'cause you have to sit and watch your stuff, once we found FTTF, we never want to do without it again.

Different strokes for different folks. If the perks are worth it to you, then it is money well spent.

 

Some like a balcony and will pay extra for it. Some don't. Don't worry about what others say. If some or all of the benefits of FTTF appeal to you, then it is a good buy.:)

Have been lucky enough to purchase FTTF on our last 2 cruises and have it again for a cruise in November. We have decided its a fantastic use of our money and time. We love it! Everything seems just a bit easier with FTTF and that makes vacation just that much better. Spend your funds and your time the way YOU like to. I personally don't see the purpose in buying "gold" jewelry on a ship let alone standing in line for an hour to do it but I don't have to cause it's not my time or money and doesn't impact MY experience. Enjoy what you like!

I, also, love FTTF just for the fact that I can drop my stuff of right away. We can do it, so we do. I don't care what all of the "whiners" say.

If they don't want to spend the $50, it's their prerogative.

For us, that, and the short lines at GS are totally worth it.

The real point of my post was to see if other people were so stressed out and exhausted by the time they get on the ship they purchase FTTF just so they can get to their cabin to relax. I can't wait to get into my cabin, drop off all my bags, freshen up, relax for an hour or so and then head out for fun. That is really the only reason I purchased FTTF. I will see if it was worth it since I leave in 5 days. :D

I've bought it for my last three cruises - two of which were solo. When traveling solo, it is very, very helpful to take my carryons directly to the room on boarding. I just can't deal with dragging around my bag for a couple of hours, trying to get lunch and drinks.

 

It's also been very handy for access to the VIP line at guest services when the normal line is snaking around.

 

I'm checking mulitple times a day for my next cruise however (58 days out) and it's been sold out since I booked. X-ing fingers that I can get lucky and buy one!

We are Platinum so don't need it. However, my DB and his wife are not. She fell on a cruise 2 years ago and broke her hip. She has finally decided to try cruising again but is leery of the long lines, carrying stuff around etc. So, I bought FTTF for them as a surprise so they can board with us. Just so much easier!

The day of embarkation can be a stressful one so I really see your point. Nice to eliminate some of the "come on we need to get there so we are not behind a billion people" stress. Plus your room (in five days) will be set and ready for you to enjoy :D

 

I know DW will not be set and ready to enjoy until all of the stuff is unpacked... so here is to hoping the luggage is prompt

Oh, totally worth the $50 to get rid of luggage and have access to room right away. I don't care what anyone says. And having access to the VIP lane at GS? If you need it for some reason you will be so thankful. You just never know when you may have an issue, say, last day when there are 20 people in line. I know, I've been there! Or getting escorted to the tender at HMC before everyone else. Yes, definitely worth it.

Update to my earlier post. I sent carnival a note on their website asking if they will be releasing more before the cruise or should I give up. Well just checked on line and FTTF was available! Yeah!

 

Unknown if just coincidence or not but another thread mentioned asking them.

I feel the exact same way as you :) I love the feeling of heading straight to the room and unpacking. Plus, I have two overexcited children that want to go right to the waterslides. We are all much happier when I purchase FTTF.

Never say Never...

I never ever went to Guest Services, had to last cruise three times. FTTF was great to skip the line, even with the dirty looks.

This cruise we tender so I'm looking forward to that paid perk as well.

If you find value in it, just like extended warranties, then pay for it. If you don't then don't if you ask me....

Our last cruise, because of extreme time constraints, we flew in the day of the cruise. Up all night to be at airport for 6am flight. By the time we got to the ship at noon, we would have paid a few hundred dollars to get some sleep. Fifty dollars was a real bargain to be in the bed ASLEEP in well under 30 minutes. We didn't wake up until they banged on the door a few times for muster. Any other perk was just gravy. :D

I had not sailed Carnival is awhile and the DD suggested we purchase FTTF. It was wonderful. I was surprised it was offered online (cruise a year away) for our upcoming cruise so we went ahead and purchased again. We are both happy to have it already.
