I wasnt being nasty or making fun of you? RCI guest services were though and was pointing that out to you!!

Or perhaps you do believe a Crew member really would have come and stood in your cabin during sleeping hours and waited around for as long as it took to confirm there is enough noise to stop you from sleeping and warrant your complaint

Congrats on the no smoking! Good on ya !

On our EX cruise last September, we also did not have a priority waiting area, but were

happy to have tag #2. Our number was called about an hour later than they predicted due

to a huge portion of the ship using "self assist" which ended up in a really long line. Those

passengers had to stand in those lines for long periods dragging their big cases.

Next time we will be sure to have a big mug of coffee, a book, and prepare to chill out

in the waiting area.

Always find it ironic, however, that everyone wants to be the very first to board the ship,

and then can't wait to bail off of it on embarkation day. ;)

So odd, I wonder what is going on?

What is really going on is that people need to fly home and need early disembarkation to get to the airport on time. With Port Canaveral 40 to 45 minutes away from the Port, RCCL is trying to accommodate those that fly home first. I really don't think it has anything to do with taking away benefits.

I wouldn't mind if we couldn't embark a ship till at least 1,if that meant disembarkation starts at 10am.......be nice to not to have to get up before the crack of dawn..

I agree, it would make that last morning much more enjoyable.

 it is a clearly stated benefit and this is the only ship from PC that I have heard this is the case on. So yes it is taking away benefit in my opinion.

Everyone flying knows how far it is to the airport so you book flights accordingly. It is not like it is being serviced by a minor airport with limited flights per day.

If you have flights that don't work then you change plans accordingly.

If the benefit is offered on all other ships there is no reason as to why it should not be offered on this ship as well.

I am fortunate that I don't have to fly to a port very often, but there are many times that I do, so I book later flights...staying away from any morning flights for sure.

I agree, that last day is still part of our cruise vacation and really does not have to be

a stressful time if we plan it right. ;)

I was on this cruise with Kathy, and I also noticed that the debarkation process could use a lot of work. We were doing self-assist, so them not giving us the usual low numbered tags didn't cause any issues, but it was unusual. I was surprised that they only had one debarkation lounge for all of C&A. Most ships I've been on have had priority areas for Diamond and above. It is one of the listed benefits after all.

We were able to get off the ship fairly quickly, just walked right off. But the wait in the terminal was pretty long. I think Customs was the problem, along with the escalator police only letting a certain number on at a time.

I so want to post all my opinions. But I am going to try to keep it to a minimum!!

For those of you that have been "Loyal" to Royal for more than 6 years, know what I'm talking about.

We have spent thousands of dollars to get to where we are. Getting to Diamond was really exciting for us, then as soon as we get there, RCI changes the rules and adds Diamond Plus. So we cruise & cruise to get to the Diamond Plus status. Finally there and then they change all the rules, cruises vs. days cruised, adding Pinnacle to the list.

I usually cruise 5-10 times a year and it used to be all on Royal. We were actually treated "Royally" on their cruises. We were "welcomed back" when we cruised. Our status gave us extra amenities that we truly enjoyed, even if it was just a ball cap.

Not anymore...They are taking away more and more amenities, that they told us we earned, but I feel we paid for in the cruises we took. The coupon books turned into an automatic discount, only we do not get it unless we ask for it and then it seems to take several trips to customer service to get resolved.

Our Independence cruise last Nov...was a disaster! We did not sleep for almost the entire cruise because a slamming door in a crew corridor next to our room. We spent days at Customer Service trying to fix the problem. They wanted to stand in our cabin at midnight to listen for the noise...Uh no, go stand in the crew corridor! Full ship, meant we were stuck in the cabin. They messed up our dining times, traveling with Daughter, SIL and Grandson. We both signed up for MTD at 7:00 and we were stuck in main seating....Again another 3 day ordeal to sit with our family. No one seemed to care!

Now when you call them, try to get an English speaking rep....They have outsourced their call centers to other countries!!! And it is sad when you know more than the rep you're speaking to.

OK I'm getting off my box!

Patently false. Their primary call center is in Oregon (I know because I live in the same city and they are one of our largest employers, I have both friends and family who work there). Most of the individuals you talk to in Oregon are in fact college educated middle class workers whom are paid quite well. They also have call centers in Wichita and Miami.

They HAVE outsourced to overflow call centers, presumably in other countries. You would only hit one of those if you called during a busy time, and it is my understanding they just answer basic questions and transfer you over to the main call centers if you need anything else.

They are hiring online and in the papers here constantly, so I imagine they are growing and perhaps in the future will rely on the outsourced overflow. If you dislike speaking to people that have not mastered English I'd recommend just calling back.

As far as it being "sad" when you know more than the person you are talking to, you do realize sometimes a person is knew at their job, correct? Again, if it is that big of an issue call back. Planning a vacation should be a happy time, not so high strung.

Well, EXCUSE ME!!! Why do you have to be so nasty and to make fun of people!!!

I am not STUPID as you are suggesting!!!!

I chose that cabin for my husband....It was the Ben & Jerry's Suite and he love B&J Ice Cream! We've stayed in this cabin on the Freedom & have never had a problem!

Whoops, B&J on FOS was noisiest cabin I've ever tried to sleep in. No use comes from service door on the floor below in Ben & Jerry's

Here are 2 pictures of the Springfield, Oregon Call Center. Beautiful building with a nautical look -- think RCI has put lots of money into it.

.

Not true...I call the individual reserations department to book cruises and it is always Guatemala.

Could you still get 1, 2 or 3 tickets from the Concierge?
yes or just go to guest services.

Springfield. There is a major call center in Medford but I am not sure which company runs that. I do know Nintendo has a big call center nearby in WA state as well.

That is a neat looking building.:D

Thanks to you both. :)

Either way of getting low number tags will work for DH.

I always call the C&A number and hit the D+ extension -- always get Oregon

DH is not as particular about where he waits -- and I only want to make sure that there is coffee

I'm a bit confused. Is the issue priority tags for D+ or is it no special lounge. When we disembarked the Explorer 8 days ago as D+ our meeting space was the theater with most other C&A levels, We had tag #2 so were the second group off after suites and pinnacles, once walk offs were cleared. If I recall, PH8 also had tag #2 leaving the Freedom.

I can't be 100% sure of this, but on Oasis as D+ we did not get low tag numbers ever.

Again, is the issue a separate lounge or tag #2 isn't priority disembarkment?

Thanks and hope I i don't have others confused because I sure am.

no priority again tomorrow morning on Freedom:mad:

Does that mean lounge or low number tags? Your original most was no priority disembarkment but you had #2 tag.

I'm not trying to be a gnat just can't see why a 2 tag isn't priority.
