Dear Santa... A Wish List for the NEW Celebrity Ships

That is really not helpful or positive. Just because you don't see the value doesn't mean others don't enjoy that service.

On longer world cruises or b2b, self service laundry would be a great asset in my mind. Put it on deck 2 where you won't have to be bothered and whats the issue then?

Royal and Celebrity have been building ships for 20 years without including self service laundry facilities. As I begin to make up my list, I won't include items that company ship designers have scratched off their list long ago.

When these ships were ordered, I think the plans have already been made and priced out. Only some tweaking might be possible. The most we may get is that clothes line that M-class and C-class offered.

I would LOVE self serve laundry and it has NOTHING to do with the cost of laundry service. It has EVERYTHING to do with the cost of my clothing - which, at home, do not get put into a dryer. I like nice things and I take great care to keep them that way. Last cruise in a S1 - we got some comped laundry (we are not yet Elite). My things came back with whites a dull gray, and cotton items shrunk beyond wearing, you could tell they were put in a hot dryer. I would love to wash my own things as I now will not use the laundry service for anything but my husbands underwear.

Last time I looked this was a thread about Wish Lists - so what is the hostility from you self serve laundry bashers? I can wish for one - apparently along with many others - all that I want. It certainly doesn't mean that I'm going to get it on the new builds - but yes - I would like it very much. Why does my washing my own clothes have any impact on you who don't wish to wash your own clothes? If you don't see it or hear it - how is this impacting you?

Of course you are probably right.

But it was a fun exercise. For a while.

We love to dance and the M Class makes this possible in the Rendezvous Lounge. We aren't going to cruise on any S Class ships because of the lack of a dance floor (in a lounge.)

Please put in a dance floor that works for both ballroom and other types of dance (not stainless steel with light strips that are hazardous...)

Thank you!

I would also love a wrap around promenade deck.

:) Otherwise I am ok with the storage in the cabins although I do like the night tables on M class better. Several mention of wall hooks- we bring 2 heavy duty hooks that are magnetized & work great. Heard about them on another CC thread some time ago, went to Home Depot & now these hooks are part of our cruise packing.

T-pool

T-pool

T-pool

I would love to see stairs into all the pools, not ladders.

Clothes line in the shower for sure.

Dance floor other than the atrium.

Larger Cafe Al Bacio

Martini bar is a must, the bar itself could even be larger, its popular!!!!

Two things:

1) Better storage space. The hanging space is too small, and the over-the-bed storage space is not workable for people like me who are 5' 3" or shorter.

2) Add a third bank of elevators. Waiting for elevators on the S-class ships is like watching paint dry....slow, frustrating, and unproductive. If you're going to keep increasing passengers, at least have the decency to make it easy for them to get around.

Also, could we please have a web cam like the old days? I loved "sailing" when I was at home.[/ Quote ]

Totally agree.

Surely it wouldn't be too difficult to get the bridge cam to be broadcast 'externally.' If I turn my in cabin TV on in the morning, it is broadcasting.

My wish list:

It would be great if they could develop a way of to reduce the impact of wind around the pool area. When cruising in non tropical areas of the world it may be sunny but the air is cool and when the wind blows through the outdoor pool area it is just not conducive to swimming and on many occasions it's even too cold to lay out on the lounges. Often the sun has even heat to make it comfortable to lay out on the lounges but the cold wind makes it very uncomfortable.

I'm in favour of completely doing away with the MDR and adopting the same concept as the Quantum of the Seas but not at the expense of less free dining venues.

Definitely a T-Pool like on the M-Class or even go with the same concept as Norwegian and have a Thermal Suite with everything at a charge of $100 for a 7 night cruise.

More Glass so you can see out from the inside. I don't like feeling like I'm in a cave.

A much larger Coffee venue. You can never get a seat at the current venues.

I would like to see a total rethink on the Buffet. I'm not sure what the answer is but the current concept is old and tired. Will think about that one.

I think Celebrity will definitely take some of the Quantum ideas and add them to the "edge" class. I'm sure they will have more multi use venues. It's definitely the future of cruise ships.

Cabins are fine as they are and I think they do a brilliant job with the little square footage they have to work with. If anything they should spend more money on developing better insulation between cabins, I really don't want to be able to hear the guy in the cabin next door snoring at 2am in the morning.

  • An infinity pool
  • Quiet zones and music zones - if one is always deserted many arguments on CC will be settled.
  • Better specialist country cuisine in specialist restaurants - i.e. A Thai, Cantonese, Indian menu perhaps on rotation
  • No segregation (like Cunard) - as much of the ship as possible should be available to all - I totally accept that higher paying passengers will get first dibs on certain things and us lesser mortals will have to pay to use them and be on a space available basis.
  • Theatre in the round
  • Better organised main shop - currently long, narrow and cramped on S-class
  • Less prime space for Art Auctions and the photo gallery
  • Media player software and USB / SD interface on TV
  • Settees in staterooms to have back cushions that fit
  • A decent french Bistro or/and Italian trattoria

    and lastly

  • Fries with my steak on the room service menu instead of mac n cheese yuk
