Almost all balcony category cabins on a specific ship have the same interiors. For example on the Caribbean Princess a B1 cat. and a BF cat will be generally the same. A few cabins do have little differences, such as you can only have twin beds, no queen. Some cabins have additional beds that allow a 3rd and 4th passenger and these generally come down from the ceiling, but these features are not a determining factors. What is the determining factor is what Princess feels are the better ship locations. Generally midship and aft facing are the B1's, B2's, BA's and so on while the aft and forward side locations are the BD, BE and BF cats. Now some balcony cabins have larger balconies, angled balconies, end balconies and are still in the BD to BF range. On the Regal and Royal there are also obstructed balconies. The best way to understand is to look at the deck plan for your ship at Princess.com. There is no one answer. Just remember the interiors are all the same. If there is a difference then it will be noted by Princess. Click on Grand Princess cabin C534 and you will see an example.

It is location location location. The closer to the middle of the ship, the more expensive. Also the deck immediately below the lido deck is a bit cheaper due to no one wanting to stay there. Cabins in the front of the ship are priced lowest. As already mentioned balcony cabins on the Caribe deck and Explorer deck have larger balconies on the grand class ships.
