On-Board Credit Use Options

An embarrassment of riches...due to the recent promotion, we will have a lot of OBC on an AZ transatlantic in November. There will be few excursions available on the Trans to use the OBC. Since we are in a Club Continent Suite, we will already receive complimentary bookings in the premium restaurants, and I think we will be pleased with the house wines and cocktails. So I am wondering if any of you have any clever ideas on how to use OBC? We will use some for internet and a little bit for laundry...but are there other ways? Such as buying casino chips, which I've done on another line? Thanks in advance for your suggestions, helpful CC folks!

If you are not a spa person (I'm not never find them as good as at home) you could also go for the extra of Chefs Table one night (there are actually possibly three nights offered) at $75 each - very special food and paired wines.

Also not spa, but I do like to get a wash and blow dry done to manage my hair at some point.

Sometimes we do find items in the shop though it is very limited I did find a really nice jewellery set there a few trips back - was $250 for the necklace, Bangle and ear rings so you never know

I had $1000 OBC on an Azamara cruise a few years ago and had no trouble at all spending it onboard! :)

I bought a nice camera, some jewellery, went to the Spa several times, ate at Aqualina and Prime C with friends, drank some nice drinks and I went on a ship excursion. Really enjoyed that cruise!

Like I said.....no problem at all spending it! So I hope you enjoy spending your OBC tv24.

First determine if the OBC is refundable. Look at the codes. oBCNR is not refundable. Spend it or lose it. oBCR is yours of you don't spend it. My TA often gives me OBCR. Whatever I don't spend is credited back to my credit card at the end of the cruise. OBCNR can be used for many things. You can buy stuff in the stores, gamble, use spa services, drink premium, or get a cash advance in the cadino. Casino cash has a small service charge. However, it is a way to get value from OBCNR that you cannot spend.

Thanks for the suggestion, Redtravel. There is no code for the OBC on my booking information, but I can get with my TA to find out that detail. I believe the OBC was given by AZ as part of a promotion, so it is probably restricted, but I will find out. Happy travels!

Yes I would like to know where this is on your booking. Does it show the OBC, because my booking does not show anything even though we have some OBC

On the first page of my Booking Confirmation (from AZ, sent to me by my TA), after the section that displays the booking charges, there is a small section (sort of a mini-spreadsheet) that shows Onboard Credits, but there are no codes for the credits.

We have used the Casino Cash Advance route on Celebrity. But I have read elsewhere that you cannot do this on Azamara. Which is correct for Azamara?

If your booking doesn't show your OBC you need to contact Azamara to get a new confirmation that shows it, so you have some proof of it. On our last cruise it didn't show on our confirmation, so I rang up and they emailed me a new confirmation that showed the OBC.
