Hotel to Port Everglades transportation

Hello, we are sailing out of Port Everglades on our next cruise, and staying at Embassy suites on 17th street. Can anyone tell me what the best private transportation is, or are there enough taxi's available we won't have to worry about getting there. We have always used Royals transportation in the past, but are venturing out on our own this time. Thanks in advance !

Agreed with the prior posters. A taxi from that hotel would run $10. Well worth it to avoid the shuttle hassles.

Avis shuttle on site...free. Across the bridge, turn left, through port security then pick a ship...any ship:)

Have you used the free shuttle recently?

There wasn't an Avis shuttle there in February. What bridge?

The hotel usually offers a shuttle ride for $7 per person. But most will choose a cab so you can head out when you want and go directly to your ship without stopping at others to unload. Cost for a cab around $12-15.

Car rental shuttles are sometimes provided for those returning or picking up a rental car. Not for all guests.

What are the chancing of calling for (and getting) a van taxi? Or maybe two cabs instead? I have five people, four of whom are women who pack like the cruise is 6 months long.

There are suv cabs. But if a lot of bags, 2 cabs would work.

When we were at the Embassy suites last July,

We just walked out the front entrance to the hotel and there was a cab waiting in the driveway we agreed on our fee ($20) for three of us and luggage.

Off we went at 10:30.

The Embassy Suites tries to push their transfer to port.

But you have to wait on everyone and it is not included in cost and they start the booking time for about 11am.

Cheaper and quicker to use a cab.

That's a little higher rate than most cabs by meter....unless that included your tip. Unless there is a longer than usual delay at the port gate, $13 or so should do it from ES.

Racking up the votes: Just take a taxi.

:)

Bon Voyage!

Another vote for a taxi.We have used the shuttle before and it get's cramped plus they drop off at various ships, ours was last. Cab will take you directly to your ship for a few $'s more,$10 vs $7-$9.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites pre cruise-- went downstairs at about 11 and since there was not a cab waiting at the moment, we simply asked and the bellmen called for one which arrived almost immediately. Cab from hotel to ship was $9 or $10 with tip. No waiting, no traffic and no issues.

We have actually done this at least 6 times from the Embassy. Never bother with the shuttle because it is a pain (plus more expensive)
