Island or Port in the Caribbean or Mexico

If you had "one" island or port to visit in the Caribbean or Mexico, what (yes I know this is YOUR opinon) would it be, and why?

(We rarely get off the ship anymore in HMC.)

Tough to decide, but I'll go with Cartagena. Colombia. Absolutely gorgeous, great history and has not been turned into a cruise ship tourist trap.

Grand Cayman. I have found the nicest people here, though your mileage may vary.

St. John US Virgun Islands. You can get there from St. Thomas.

 

Not comercialized like most other islands.

Thank you everyone for your replies. This really gives me an idea of what to check out for our next cruise.

 

I'm sorry, but several of you suggested HMC. Would you please "enlighten" me on what this stands for?

Half Moon Cay, a private island owned by Carnival located in the Bahamas. It's a beautiful island with one of the nicest beaches in the Caribbean. I have been there numerous times with my family and really enjoyed it. The water is crystal clear and last time I was there in August 2014 on the Carnival Victory many passengers were feeding the fish bread. Holland America, Princess, and Carnival stop there for a one day beach break. A sign near one of the beach bars puts the entire place into prospective, " I never want to leave this beautiful place".

ST Martin , great beaches , restaurants and shops within a 10 dollar taxi fare ( I agree on St John but it takes so long to get there)
