TeeRick Posted June 4, 2018 #151 Share Posted June 4, 2018 We were Elite on our fifth cruise. Despite cruising with Celebrity a few times after that we have never attended the happy hour event. We always have a beverage package and the free booze is not what I'd choose to order. I can socialise and mingle with people anywhere. So have we missed out? :) It's most unlikely we'll ever reach Zenith unless we fall in love with Azamara and even then it's highly unlikely. I'm not sure a new tier will be introduced though. Surely that would cheapen the Zenith level? As for Zenith, Groucho Marx summarized it best. I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member. PatC Posted June 4, 2018 #154 Share Posted June 4, 2018 We are Elite Plus (almost half way to Zenith) and Diamond Plus (2/3 of the way to Pinnacle) and we don't expect to ever reach Zenith because we usually travel in an ocean view balcony, but we do have a shot at Pinnacle. As far as we know nobody has ever made Zenith and Pinnacle. Most of the Pinnacles we know have basically cruised only Royal (with possibly a small number of cruises on other lines). We don't know any Zeniths so don't know if that also is true for them. There are now many Zenith members. We know a few and they continue to grow at a steady pace. Celebrity just doesn't tell you how many. We are Elite plus also and this is a joke. We were original Captain's Club members when it meant something. Stopped going to "events" because they are way to crowded and it means nothing any more. We also will never reach Zenith. BUT, cruising is still great and if they want to continue to count our "points" go for it. The spread between E+ and Zenith is ridiculous. This is proven by the fact that suites are now allowed in Michaels and Luminae. BUT, that might change in the future with the number of Zeniths rising. Who knows. Still love the Celebrity "brand" even tho it has gone down hill since our first cruise, on the Zenith by the way, in 1992. Oh well, time marches on! iSailor Posted June 4, 2018 #155 Share Posted June 4, 2018 Yes I think Celebrity made a mistake on Elite + Point as 750. 1500 points is better so it won't be so far a part from Zenith. Also you can see now on most cruises the Cafe Al Bacio is always over crowded be Elite+ members. One more thing there will be less complaint from Elite+ members. Suite passengers, Zeniths and Top Tier Blue Chip members are given access to Michael's Club. You are correct that the number of Zeniths are growing at a fast rate. Arno tries to keep track and has just posted on another site that a single cruiser has just made Zenith. As I've stated before the double points for double fare has resulted in more singles reaching Zenith. Zenith benefits have indeed been watered down by including Zenith benefits in promotions. I suspect that changes will be made as the Zeniths increase, but I think that it's great that so many reach that level. I also suspect that many who claim that Zenith is out of reach for them will someday achieve the Zenith level. It sort of sneaks up on you. One more thing there will be less complaint from Elite+ members. The reason Cafe al Bacio is always crowded is because nearly everyone has at least a Classic Drink package. We became Elite+ when they did the change over giving us 870 points (we had 29 under the old system). If they made that Elite+ 1,500 we would never get there, so again no reason to keep sailing on Celebrity in order to gain another level.

If your saying that Elite+ should be 1500 and not 750 points, that would just move the attainability problem further down the scale as there would then be two huge gaps rather than one, so no incentive to pass Elite for most people. Orator Posted June 4, 2018 #161 Share Posted June 4, 2018 .I am just enjoying my cruise not matter what tier I am. And that's the key! Points, perks, levels are just things you accumulate over time. IMHO one cruises because they enjoy the experience. You select a particular line because you believe it will fulfill your cruising desires. You might select a cruise based on itinerary, size of ship, or line. Whatever floats your boat. Sometimes we over analyze and fail to enjoy the moment. I've come to realize how short the time we have to experience life and how I've been blessed to be able to experience the world with the person I love most! BosoxI Posted June 4, 2018 #163 Share Posted June 4, 2018 OK. I have to ask. Who keeps track of the number of Zenith deaths or even CC deaths, for that matter?
Alakegirl Posted June 4, 2018 #164 Share Posted June 4, 2018 One of theZeniths keeps an unofficial list, which shiws fewer tha 300 have achieved this level, and that list includes known deaths. As to Captains Club membership statistics in general, one presumes that Celebrity follows that

maggie.1008 Posted June 4, 2018 #167 Share Posted June 4, 2018 We became Elite about 10 years ago. Happy Hour was in Michaels club and there were about 10 of us each night. When the S class ships came out everything changed. It was shortly after that RCL guests could enjoy the Elite happy Hour. We are Elite Plus now with 1500 points. We have now reached out to the Premium and luxury lines as prices in Aqua and Suites is very high. We still think X is the best Mass Market ship and I will be on the Solstice this September after a 2 year break from X.
BosoxI Posted June 5, 2018 #168 Share Posted June 5, 2018 As to Captains Club membership statistics in general, one presumes that Celebrity follows that I doubt that. When I croak, the last thing my wife will do is notify Celebrity. The CC stats are ever growing, not that anyone cares. It must be almost as bad as the voter list in Chicago. We have never cruised because we wanted to accrue loyalty points, but because we enjoy the experience. So it was never a goal to reach a certain loyalty level, but we did pass over the 3000 point level in 2017 and I must admit we enjoy the benefits. When we were getting close to becoming Elite, we had booked a ten day cruise when I noticed there was a two day Bahamas cruise which would put us over the top. We jumped on it. Judging by our conversations with other passengers, the majority of people on that ship were doing what we were doing. Once we were Elite, we didn't shoot for Elite+ but that two day was low hanging fruit. Back then it was very easy to gain status with Celebrity. People get close to the next level and look for ways to go over the top. I can't blame them

There are many who can't wait to tell you how many points and/or cruises they have and status by dropping it in general conversation. I cruise on Azamara quite a bit too and it's the same. A few love to "social climb". It's really quite funny to watch. Enjoy the moment is the way. Phil
cruiseflyer38 Posted June 25, 2018 #175 Share Posted June 25, 2018 If not all the Zenith be allowed to dine in Luminae at least they should allow double Zenith and above since they already spent a fortune. Get to the top quick , one trip in a suite and you are BETTER THEN ZENITH.:confused:
