Kineticoh20 Posted May 19, 2015 #251 Share Posted May 19, 2015 I will be curious on what the listed tonnage will be know? I am not overly concerned about the changes made, I will immensely enjoy my Med cruise. Of all the complaints the one that bothers me the most that nobody has brought up is the line of cabins along side of the casino! Too me that makes no sense at all, just odd. Making the casino smaller to accommodate those cabins was an error in judgment in my opinion.

trinaM Posted June 1, 2015 Author #253 Share Posted June 1, 2015 I wish princess would have someone tasting the meals before they are sent out to make sure they are the way they should be. Too many times , the temperature is OFF, or the item is way too salty or what ever. The head chef should make sure the food being sent out is good. If you want a 5 star restaurant, go for a nice luxury restaurant and or hotel... or a luxury line. If you can afford any of it. I've never had a bad meal on Princess. trinaM Posted June 1, 2015 Author #255 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Making the desserts NOT just look good but Taste good. Using fresh ingredients and not taste like it came from Safeway grocery store.

trinaM Posted June 1, 2015 Author #257 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Have the "raspberries" or "raspberries,Blackberries" available for someone who wants a bit of dessert. That seems like a simple request...
KruzeKrazy! Posted June 1, 2015 #258 Share Posted June 1, 2015 I also like some fresh fruit/berries for dessert and have always been able to get them when I've asked.
Rare Steelers0854 Posted June 1, 2015 #259 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Honestly the royal and regal have really seemed to address all my concerns. I will be on the royal for the first time in the spring so I can have a better idea then. But more onboard food options (expanded pizza options, sushi etc). Larger piazza, better buffet layout, better in cabin tv setup, ability to text people on board while at sea. Add a central staircase (as I use that as a form of exercise while on board), and I'm all set!

I did ask nicely for fruit on my last princess cruise and was turned down. didn't understand that one. Not on the menu... Have you tried the desserts that are actually on the menu? I, for one, can't wait for the Norman Love desserts I will be enjoying in 27 days!
caribill Posted June 1, 2015 #263 Share Posted June 1, 2015 I did ask nicely for fruit on my last princess cruise and was turned down. didn't understand that one. Who did you ask. I cannot imagine that a headwaiter would not arrange for you to have fruit for you every evening. Your regular waiter may or may not be able to make it happen. trinaM Posted June 1, 2015 Author #264 Share Posted June 1, 2015 I believe it was the waiter at the crown grill. Maybe you are right. I should have asked someone else? like the Maitre "d? thanks for the response.
Miss Pat Posted June 1, 2015 #265 Share Posted June 1, 2015 pay attention to making the desserts taste good rather than Just "look" good. What a waste! They're very adapt at using the whipped cream to make every dessert look different when in reality they're pretty much the same thing. The exception are the new desserts introduced this year. Rare Bimmer09 Posted June 1, 2015 #269 Share Posted June 1, 2015 Late coming to this thread and have just read 100 posts so may be duplicating the thoughts of others here... I'm pretty pleased so far with my PCL experience but of course "there is always room for improvement"Hmm if I were Jan Schwartz I would be constantly looking at what I sell and trying to "wow" my customers without spending an inordinate amount of money. To do this I might have to take some cruises on the competition and see if we are missing something that people can only get on other lines that would fit into the PCL cruising style, which lets out waterparks and rock climbing and parades of costumed characters. I might get the Princess room service menu to dazzle like the Celebrity one- I saw a lot of people in the 100 posts decry the meagre P offerings for room service.( I'll print the X one if anyone is interested...) I might send out some memos to the ships.... *Officers get out and about and say hello to people (costs nothing). Be seen. You don't have to play water volleyball in the pool in uniform like the X officers or dance with the passengers like the Oceania team. Don't be aloof. * Guys I have a complaint from a guy called Norris whose panties are all in a bunch because you close the bars on the ship and P Cays way before the stated closing time. You are costing me money!!! Stay open until the stroke of whenever and then he'll have nothing to bitch about.( Where's my Advil?) * Somebody-anybody, go around the deck at midnight and clean up all the damned empty glasses and debris on the decks before his picky Royal Highness Norris starts wandering the decks with his clipboard at 5 a.m. * Light the warming trays on the so-called BBQ in P Cays. Even the flies are complaining that the food is cold. Sorry- I just snorted milk through my nose...those cabanas on PC...$199? People pay that? LOL. Hey if it ain't broke.. * Route Planning team- there's an island called Puerto Rico-look it up. Plan some sailings from there so the people don't get fed up with this rut we are in, in the Caribbean. There's a s**tload of other islands we can reach this way. Get some petty cash and buy a map if need be. * Also guys let's plan at least one late night port stop in the Caribbean so that people can be ashore to dine and dance (and buy Diamonds) into the wee small hours. Sailaway from St Maarten at 1 or 2 a.m maybe. If somewhere like Istanbul stay overnight and we'll save port fees somewhere else to make up. *new directive- I've changed my mind-go ahead and put some rum in those rum drinks on board. You heard it from me! *Every ship is to have at least one singing waiter. Hector is in charge of this. Make it so! * Enforce the lounger-hog directive. Use extreme prejudice! * Effective immediately-get some decent coffee on board. Lavazza or such, like X so that people with coffee cards can get some coffee. * Stop Traditional Dining people coming into Anytime Dining restaurants. I issued you water cannons, now use them! * Lastly just a question...Island Princess...that stern...say what? Can I see the designer in my office, with his hat and coat, before he leaves for the day? Most of these measures don't require a big spend... Norris
Skai Posted June 2, 2015 #270 Share Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) This effectively applies to all cruise staff on all lines(not just Princess alone). While it's understood that there are to be some language barriers involved (due to the multitude of various nationalities of crew members), my request would be: Supervisors please train your staff as so: Giving incorrect answers to questions just for the sake of being helpful and providing quality customer service is not really being helpful or providing quality customer service. It's happened multiple times where I've asked a crewmember a question and it's as if they're trained to just give any answer to be accomodating -- whether the actual information provided is correct or not. If a crewmember doesn't know the answer to a question (which is absolutely fine), it would be better off for them to state as such and direct the passenger to someone who can correctly answer the question. I'll take no information provided over incorrect information provided every time...thank you very much. Edited June 2, 2015 by Skai

KruzeKrazy! Posted June 2, 2015 #272 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Norris and Skai - I concur with the entirety of both of your posts. Norris - one note: while there should be more Princess does/did (I admit I haven't checked since) sail out of Puerto Rico. We've taken a Southern Caribbean cruise on the CB from/to San Juan. We liked being to travel farther and get places sooner since you're part way there. But then there's the normally higher airfare to factor in...
