RFerrington Posted August 22, 2018 #2304 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Just made a great upgrade. We have a casino comped room on Liberty for 2 Sept. and were able to upgrade our JS to an OS for $498 total. First really GOOD discount we've had in a while. Only 1 thing concerns me at the moment. I asked the agent to be sure and include the upgraded grats in with the room upgrade charge. She told me (twice) that I would only be charged grats on the original booking rate (JS) and I KNOW that's wrong. I told her I would be very unhappy if I get a surprise bill onboard and she assured me I would not...but I am very skeptical. I won't really complain though, even if we do get charged additional for the grats. The upgrade was such a great deal. The suites on this sailing have been sold out for weeks and it only popped up this morning. It was the very LAST room on the ship. All other categories are sold out. YIPPEE !! Daghis Posted August 22, 2018 Author #2305 Share Posted August 22, 2018 That's great! I did a similar upgrade (JS -> OS), although I paid the going rate for it (~$3,000 for a 7-night cruise on Harmony of the Seas). My booking predates the most recent gratuity increase and has the option to prepay gratuities any time before sailing at 2017's rates. I asked my travel agent to arrange prepayment of the gratuities, and despite being in an owner's suite, I was only charged $13.50/day (last year's non-suite rate). Slightly more interesting, I just added a third person to the booking yesterday. The TA added prepaid gratuities for them as well, also at the $13.50/day rate. I decided on October on Harmony, but paid to upgrade to a Junior suite. No other suites available except for Star Class at $7,000 per person! samlomax Posted August 23, 2018 #2315 Share Posted August 23, 2018 A Panama canal cruise would be an amazing comp. Typical that I've booked the jewels Panama for March, they gave me the $1000 voucher off but nothing else ,🤨 Sent from my SM-G930F using Forums mobile app

Wally Alligator Posted August 25, 2018 #2318 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Does anyone know if the casino is open when the ship is docked at Coco Cay? Vickie Saw your question and was thinking the answer was yes but decided to try and confirm since we will be stopping there in October. Looked at some recent Cruise Compass scans people have posted and confirmed on some (most? all?) stops at CocoCay the casino does open. Adventure was there 8/6/18 9AM to 6PM and casino was scheduled to open at 1PM. Mariner was there 8/4/18 7AM - 5PM and slots scheduled to open at 10AM with tables at 1PM. Enchantment on 7/26/18 compass had same schedule as Mariner. Not being a beach person, guess I can sleep in, catch a brunch, and hit the UTH table at 1PM on the CocoCay day. Bronx12 Posted August 26, 2018 #2320 Share Posted August 26, 2018 I am wondering if anyone has experience with booking the internet with their Prime status. I understand that we get a 30% discount onboard. I usually buy internet in advance so I am unsure of the pricing on the ship. Which is the better deal, advance purchase or onboard? Thanks for the help :)
Nath Posted September 10, 2018 #2321 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Following this topic closely. Just came back from the Oasis (Sept. 2-9) and earned a free inside or 500$ discount. I was told that my prime tier is reached and valid until 3/20. I'm a Canadian citizen and was told to wait for an email while they are verifying my eligibility for the Prime annual complimentary cruise. Should hear back from them within 3-5 business days. By Friday, I will call them back if no email is received. The plan is to combine both offers and book B2B cruises sailing end of March. As for internet, we took the internet on day 3 (offered at 17,99 per day) and received both our diamond discount (19.95$) and the Prime discount 30%. If we would have take it ahead with the cruise planner offer included in the deluxe beverage (combined to Voom), it would have been cheaper at an extra 8$ per day. What are your experiences with URComped and MSC? Maybe considering giving a try with MSC.

Haven't been on MSC yet, but URComped is fantastic, just upload your best recent offer and voila you'll have more offers than you know what to do with. snoope Posted September 13, 2018 #2325 Share Posted September 13, 2018 Does Royal give cruise certificates at the end of a cruise if you lose a certain amount, but not meet the point requirements? If so, what are those parameters? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
