Michaels concierge email pre cruise

Will be interested to see how they handle us UK customers. We sail 2 weeks today and so far no contact at all. Will keep you posted!

Agreed, but we have had many 'phone conversations with Tanji [in a different role - calls initiated by Celebrity] so I would expect guests in the UK to be included.

I also had a 'phone call a couple of months ago [post-cruise] by someone from Celebrity US which ended with the person saying: "I am ......., if you need a concierge in future, please contact me". I am guessing, now, that she may have been part of this programme.

Currently onboard Summit now and all of our precruise reservations for Luminae, specialty restaurants, spa appointments, room setups all done correctly per the requests of my cabin and some of the other Suite cabins(we have 18 people onboard). Tanji, who is the shoreside concierge for Summit was great to deal with. She dealt directly with the restaurant, spa, guest relations dept. I confirmed with the Michael's Club concierge on this sailing who is Kimberley Reed that it is the system in place for all ships with a different shoreside concierge assigned to each ship. It leaves the Michael's Club concierge more time to help the guests on the sailing and make the experience even more enjoyable. I give the new system a solid A. If you have a sailing and you are in a CS or higher cabin and have not heard from the shoreside concierge two weeks before your cruise, call or send them an email with any requests.

Having a great time with Capt. Leo at the helm. Off to a late breakfast.

Very strange that you're sailing PH on October 18th and have received a call already. I'm sailing PH on August 30th, made my final payment ages ago, and have yet to receive a call.

We are sailing BEFORE you and still have not received either a call or e-mail

Call came from Tangie and the caller ID on my phone read 877-290-5881

And just got the email:

It had a direct phone number as well, email me if you need it.

Curt - don't suppose you know who the Shore side Concierge for the Equinox is?

Tanji did make note that she had recently been reassigned to this new role.

Would appreciate knowing how they deal with UK customers as well. Had gotten used to the email from the onboard concierge prior to sailing, very good for arranging final details and I think it will be a shame if they change that.

Does anyone know who the concierge is for Millennium? Or who the shore side concierge is?

Thank you.

I believe that Lucy is the MCC on Millie. She is wonderful. When the program started she went to each ship to train the MCCs.

Pleased to say we received our email late on Friday night. Have emailed back my requests. Haven't had a reply yet but it is the weekend. So I guess UK customers just get an email and not a phone call. Quite happy so far - we'll only know when we board in 8 days time! So excited about this trip - it's been nearly 4 years since we were last on board.

Appreciate the information Susie and glad to hear they are still emailing people.

Am sure you will have a great trip and all goes well, hope you enjoy.

Much prefer to have an email, as someone has commented previously when you get a phone call it's not so easy to remember everything. At least with the email you have time to collect your thoughts.

  • 2 weeks later...

We are departing on the Millennium on Sept 11th. We are staying in a higher end suite, when should we receive ve email or phone call from shoreside concierge. 2 years ago we stayed in a RS and did not receive one so not sure how new this is.

That letter left me with a question. DW and I will be in an RS on the Constellation this December. Last time we were on Celebrity was before they set Michael's Club aside for suites. However, we were in a CS and our butler performed all of the services listed in the letter. So my questions is: Is there anything that the concierge can do that cannot also be done by the suite butler?

That letter left me with a question. DW and I will be in an RS on the Constellation this December. Last time we were on Celebrity was before they set Michael's Club aside for suites. However, we were in a CS and our butler performed all of the services listed in the letter. The advantage of the advance contact with the Concierge [for the things the butler would do] is that everything can be set up in advance. Our butler and stateroom attendant were so pleased on our latest cruise that they could show us our suite set up just as we would like. It makes their life easier too.

What you would use the Concierge for on board is primarily the niggly little things that you would have needed to queue at Guest Relations for in the past such as [but not limited to] account queries.

Items such as restaurant, and other, bookings can be made on board by either your butler or the Concierge. The advantage of using the Concierge [if you happen to be in Michael's Club at the time] is that he/she can bring up the information on their computer screen and make the reservation there and then whereas the butler has to telephone. Otherwise, it does not matter who does the booking because they consult each other [and the Luminae hostess] to ensure that they all know your plans.

Getting the information up on the screen is useful if you was to know if a certain type of activity is planned [e.g. a cooking class]. The Concierge can show you all the details so that you can make your decision. Your butler will know what is usually done but on, say, a repositioning cruise there may not be a "normal".

The one thing I found annoying was that the Concierge would ring us to remind us that we had something booked. But, then, I hate it when the hospital, and others, do that at home. I do not miss appointments but, apparently, many/most people do these days.

Of course, I should have mentioned perhaps the most valuable thing done by the Michael's Club Concierge [depending on the type of cruise you are on]. If there is any problem at embarkation or disembarking the ship at any port, not only do you get priority but the Concierge will escort you off the ship [often via a different route] to ensure that you have a smooth passage.

We're in a Royal Suite on our upcoming cruise and we received a call from Elisabeth (shore side) last Saturday. She was so helpful - really made us feel welcome.

Has anyone ever asked for something that may not already be on board?

We requested the usual - extra hangers and bar preferences. We would like nice stemware for wine in the suite - is this feasible?

On our last couple of suite cruises we have already had some quite nice wine glasses in the room. In the RS there are quite a few glasses of varying types above the wet bar area. I am quite sure they will sort you with some alternatives if you do not like....

What possibly not on board are you thinking of requesting?

Chemmo,

Thank you for the quick reply. Honestly, I have no plans to request anything else but I am intrigued by Celebrity's Suite Class program and am interested in the possibilities.;)
