Boiler Cruiser Posted August 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2015 (edited) I will be on the Prinsendam for a 14 day cruise next July. My DW and I enjoy eating in the specialty restaurants when we are on a cruise. I have some questions: 1. On a 14 day cruise, how many "Evening at LeCirque" dinners will there be? 2. Will we know which days will be "Evening at LeCirque" dinners when we make are reservations for the specialty restaurants on line? Are they always on the same day each week? 3. How does the "Evening at LeCirque" menu differ from the regular Pinnacle menu? Thanks. SilvertoGold Posted August 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2015 2. Le Cirque nights are noted in the online reservations, so you will know how many and when there are scheduled. 3. Very, very different menu. Minimal. The lobster salad is excellent! You should be able to do a search and find the current menu for Le Cirque. rkacruiser Posted August 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2015 SilvertoGold is correct in his response to you. Answering Q #1: probably only one Le Cirque dinner on a 14 day cruise. The Evening at Le Cirque was the best dinner I have enjoyed in the Pinnacle Grill other than the Master Chef's special dinners. PG's regular menu/service has disappointed me more times than not; but that is just me. Another vote for the Lobster Salad and the Beef Entree was as well prepared as any I have enjoyed at any high-end Steak House in the area where I live. Enjoy! Krazy Kruizers Posted August 25, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2015 On our 14 day cruises there was only 1 Le Cirque. It booked up very quickly and was sold out before the cruise began. This was on an Alaskan cruise. So as soon as it opens up for booking -- book it.
Avalon35 Posted August 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2015 If you book online do you pay ahead of time?
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2015 If you book online do you pay ahead of time? Yes -- so have your credit card handy. If you change your mind and want to cancel any pre-booked reservations -- you need to call Ship Services at 1-800-541-1576 to do so. You can cancel up to 3 days before the cruise and you will get the credit back on your credit card. After that you will get shipboard credit. SilvertoGold Posted August 25, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2015 Thanks, KK, for posting the menu. The Pavlova is excellent, really a great dessert that HAL sometimes gets right in the DR. Glad to see it perfect for Le Cirque.

Tempted to go with the Sorbet; I was so full. But, I am glad that I chose that dessert.
SilvertoGold Posted August 26, 2015 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2015 The Pavlova is outstanding, fresh, light and incredibly tasty. The Souffle is good by HAL's standards but sort of boring. The Creme Brulee is rich but bland. The Pineapple is good if you like rum and they use ripe pineapple.
zelker Posted August 26, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 26, 2015 There were 2 Le Cirque evenings on our 14 night Statendam cruise in Alaska last month. As has been mentioned, the lobster salad is wonderful and not at all what we expected (they brought out a whole tail, albeit a small one, on the salad). We both said we would have been happy just eating two of those and skipping the main course which was "ok" but didn't floor either one of us enough to think it was worth the extra money. Guess it was good to experience it once but neither of us feel compelled to rush back and do it again anytime soon.

Krazy Kruizers Posted August 26, 2015 #15 Share Posted August 26, 2015 The Chocolate Souffle on Le Cirque night is way better than the one in the main dining room. Sadly the chocolate souffle has been removed from the main Pinnacle menu.
Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted August 26, 2015 #16 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Unfortunately July 2016 is a very long way off. Lots of things can change including HAL no longer offering Le Cirque. I have heard that it is definitely a good possibility that it will be going away very soon.

Last time, she ordered both soups (this was still the old menu), and they made her an entree version of the lobster salad for her entree. She quite enjoyed it. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 26, 2015 #21 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Sirio Maccioni owns quite a few restaurants around the world. I posted this link before: http://www.lecirque.com/locations This could be why there are contract problems.

Le Cirque should be offered at least through the end of the Caribbean season in Spring 2017. (Source: PR Newswire.) Lisa might have some inside information on why either LC International LLC (Le Cirque) or Carnival Corporation (Holland America) might have voided the agreement. The Eurodam and Rotterdam alternate Le Cirque and De Liberje each week. Edited August 26, 2015 by POA1
rkacruiser Posted August 26, 2015 #23 Share Posted August 26, 2015 Thanks, Lisa To be replaced? By De Librjie? I hope not. My experience with the De Librjie on the Eurodam was disappointing and not worth trying again. I do not appreciate deconstructed cuisine.
Rare visagrunt Posted August 26, 2015 #24 Share Posted August 26, 2015 The Eurodam and Rotterdam alternate Le Cirque and De Liberje each week. That's not what is showing for my 14 day cruise on the Rotterdam in October. We have Die Librije on the third night, but no Le Cirque at all. Pinnacle is showing bookable for every other night of the cruise.
