A few silly questions for seasoned Freedom of the Seas cruisers

I have a few random questions, maybe someone who's cruised this boat before can answer....

If I don't buy the drink package, how easy is it to find free drinks? (Unsweet Tea specifically)

How is the kid care for a 6-yo girl? Fun? Hours for the kids center? What if there aren't a lot of kids, do they combine ages?

I might come up with other random things :) but I'll save them for later.

1. It's a ship.

2. There is unsweetened ice tea in the Windjammer Buffet and main dining room during meals. Lots of people like it; I think that it smells and tastes like wet tobacco leaves. :D

When I want my tea fix, I make hot tea. I don't like the stuff they serve in the Windjammer. They'll have teabags and hot water near the coffee in all the restaurants.

Their hot tea brand is also pretty bad, so I bring my own onboard.

BTW, Carol you nailed it. I've always thought it tasted like something odd. Mind blown. :D

I like unsweetened iced tea... but I didn't like the tea on Freedom. Tasted like instant with lemon flavoring, which I hate. I stuck with lemonade (which wasn't bad) and the occasional flavored water (meh), both free. I like ice water with lemon but didn't think look/ask for lemon wedges (*note to self). Windjammer buffet is easy enough to hop in for filling up your drink cup, no worries.

Aside from the iced tea, Freedom is a great ship! :)

The lemons are usually near the iced tea. ;)

Included drinks are: Ice water, coffee, tea (iced or hot) lemonade or flavored water, milk, and juice at breakfast.

The tea is too strong for me, but you can get hot tea (with a teabag) and make your own...lots of people make hot tea, and pour it over ice for real brewed tea.

I also drink the iced tea and while it's not great, it's better than nothing. I stay away from the lemonade because I prefer not to have the sugar. I did note this trip (not sure why I might not have noticed on prior trips) that there is no iced tea on the promenade (only ice water or hot beverages in the café).

I didn't want to bother with making my own so I managed.

On both of our Royal cruises (Freedom January 2014 and Vision October 014) they've had so relatively few kids that the 6-8 group was mixed with the 9-11 group. Everyone always seemed to be having fun.

Can I add a random question?

Is there an atm on the freedom?

Thanks. X

Yes, there is an ATM near Guest Services, and possibly also in the Casino. However, I would not depend on them because the seem to be out of service more than I would expect.

Well I suppose at least some of the Captains are "pretentious people who think they are better than others" then because I heard at least two correct people when referring to their ship as a "boat". :o

Captain Tor Olsen on Freedom and Captain Claus Andersen when he was on Radiance.

I can understand why. My 4 year old nephew can drive a "boat". It takes MANY years and a Master to sail a "ship"
