duct tape Posted February 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Not at all happy with White Bay Cruise Terminal. Isolated, transportation difficult and who wants to ride a bus over the Anzac Bridge when you should be on a ferry! Rant over. Love Sydney! MrsWaldo Posted February 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2016 White Bay sux Apologies from a local.. Read the complaints on Seabourn I wish in could apologise but everyone is yet to realise that premium cruise lines bring in more $ than the stop and go change overs... Read the complaints on Seabourn I wish in could apologise but everyone is yet to realise that premium cruise lines bring in more $ than the stop and go change overs... The daft thing is that I was looking for where Whisper was docked on the navigation app and I expect it to be at the Terminal on Circular Quay. But there hasn't been a ship docked at the terminal on Circular Quay since Whisper arrived so also presumably had been an option but wasn't used because it costs more. It is a shame because it really is at an inconvenient place for such a short visit. Jeff

We visited the Hunter Valley Cheese Company, Tyrrell's Wines, Saddler's Creek Winery and then Margan for lunch and a wine tasting. Here is a picture of the cheese tasting. And here is a picture of Margan winery.

World class city with no infrastructure or Internet! I was following another couples blog from Hal world voyage, same problems! It's actually so close to darling harbour but they send people in buses !? Sent from my iPod touch using Forums mobile app
Rare mysty Posted February 18, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2016 Last night Mother Nature put on a very dramatic light show off the port side of the ship over the Whitsunday Islands. Lightening flashed through the clouds at the horizon. Nature's fireworks and it was awesome to see! Today we were in Townsville, Australia (along the west coast south of Cairns). It was 34 C with 88% humidity. A steam bath! Myster has been craving Moreton Bay Bugs and our mission was to have them for lunch before we left Australia for Bali. He searched online last night and found a place on Palmer Street called Simply Tops Seafood Bar. We took the shuttle bus into town and struck out to find it. Luckily it was not too far from the shuttle drop off because we were both bathed in sweat soon after leaving the bus. The meal was excellent! We had a local beer and the Bugs. Here is a picture. We then headed back to the ship to cool off. Here is a picture of Castle Hill from the cruise terminal.

Rare drron29 Posted February 18, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 18, 2016 Going to Bali so should be through the Torres Strait with a stop in Darwin would be my guess.

Rare mysty Posted February 21, 2016 #17 Share Posted February 21, 2016 We have just spent two days in Cairns, Australia. It gave a whole new meaning to the concept of a sweat box! Temperatures around 36 C and humidity at 88%. Walking just a few blocks from the ship left us bathed in sweat! The first day in port we did the Kuranda Skyrail/Scenic Train trip. We had arranged it with a private tour company and we had to walk to Pullman International Hotel for our pick-up. Thankfully the tour bus came early and we were able to cool off in the air conditioned coach. The Skyrail trip to Kuranda was broken into three segments (2 stops along the way). The first stop named Red Peak had a boardwalk through the rainforest. Here is a picture. The second stop was named Barron Falls. Here is a picture of the falls. We are now sailing between the Great Barrier Reef and the east coast of Australia to Thursday Island.
Rare mysty Posted February 24, 2016 #18 Share Posted February 24, 2016 We were in port at Thursday Island, Australia on February 22. Once again, extremely hot and humid. We did not have a tour from this port so we just walked around this sleepy place. Here is the welcome sign on the wharf. And here is a view from the wharf. After a sea day yesterday, we docked in Darwin, Australia this morning. Myster has gone of on a "Jumping Crocodiles" tour. He has taken the camera with him. Pictures may follow.
