Has this happened to anyone else??

Both my husband and I have received several phone calls, texts and emails from Royal Caribbean over the last few days. They say not to arrive until noon for our cruise on Saturday.

Yes, we've received them too. Suggested arrival times are not enforced out of US ports.

It depends on what they say. If they reference "full ship cleaning" or "sanitary measures", then something like noro was experienced on the present cruise and boarding will be delayed.

 

THAT you take at their word, and don't arrive too early.

 

If they are just generic, then go ahead and get to the pier when you wish.

I wouldn't alter any arrival plans you may already have - just go as planned.

I would say a generic message. Just so many of them!

We got the same type of message and were told to check-in at 2:00 in the afternoon for the Oasis. We had to check-out of our hotel by 11:00 and had transportation arranged to the pier shortly after that. We had no place to go with luggage but to the pier and left when the transportation arrived. There was no problem.

If you acknowledge one of the texts, emails or phone messages, they usually stop. There is always a link or response to give so they know you got it. Then feel free to ignore the suggested timing. (Unless you get a message like the one Merion Mom is talking about).

I received an email warning about Zika prior to departure. I acknowledged receipt and received nothing else..

We did that with one sailing (delayed due to noro cleaning) and stayed at the airport for a couple of hours. When we got to the pier we found out that the folks that did show up got a free tour of Miami with drinks.:cool:

They are simply giving a "suggestion".. if you are able to get there earlier, it's not a problem.

Good to know! We have been waiting for over a year for this cruise! I'm not waiting another two hours if I don't have too!
