goldgirl2 Posted February 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Both my husband and I have received several phone calls, texts and emails from Royal Caribbean over the last few days. They say not to arrive until noon for our cruise on Saturday.
Clarea Posted February 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Yes, we've received them too. Suggested arrival times are not enforced out of US ports.
Merion_Mom Posted February 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2016 It depends on what they say. If they reference "full ship cleaning" or "sanitary measures", then something like noro was experienced on the present cruise and boarding will be delayed. THAT you take at their word, and don't arrive too early. If they are just generic, then go ahead and get to the pier when you wish.
leaveitallbehind Posted February 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) I wouldn't alter any arrival plans you may already have - just go as planned. Edited February 26, 2016 by leaveitallbehind

goldgirl2 Posted February 26, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted February 26, 2016 I would say a generic message. Just so many of them!
KansasK Posted February 26, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2016 We got the same type of message and were told to check-in at 2:00 in the afternoon for the Oasis. We had to check-out of our hotel by 11:00 and had transportation arranged to the pier shortly after that. We had no place to go with luggage but to the pier and left when the transportation arrived. There was no problem.
cincicruisers Posted February 26, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Leaving on Sunday. I have not received email or phone call.
MattInFLL Posted February 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 26, 2016 If you acknowledge one of the texts, emails or phone messages, they usually stop. There is always a link or response to give so they know you got it. Then feel free to ignore the suggested timing. (Unless you get a message like the one Merion Mom is talking about). THAT you take at their word, and don't arrive too early. We did that with one sailing (delayed due to noro cleaning) and stayed at the airport for a couple of hours. When we got to the pier we found out that the folks that did show up got a free tour of Miami with drinks. Edited February 26, 2016 by Biker19
cb at sea Posted February 26, 2016 #13 Share Posted February 26, 2016 They are simply giving a "suggestion".. if you are able to get there earlier, it's not a problem.
