We just had a visit from the upgrade fairy! We went from B202 to C242 on the Regal. My question, is this a good upgrade? The cabins seem the same just the deck and position is different.

That does seem to be the same except for location, but only 1 deck apart.

Kind of strange.

From a Category BE forward location to a BB mid-forward doesn't seem to do much other than get you closer to the elevator. And one deck lower to boot: good if you spend lots of time on Decks 5-7, not so good if you prefer the Lido.

But the price difference for the few remaining unsold cabins for your sailing in those two categories is astounding: the BB price is 75% higher than the BE simply because forward is considered the least desirable location. (Of course there could have been virtually no price difference during whatever promotion you booked under).

BB is more pricy than BE, so yes, technically you were upgraded. As long as you're happy with it, that is what matters. [emoji4] Have a wonderful trip

If there is an available Cat. BB cabin you'd rather have, you can request it--through your travel agent if you booked through one or directly with Princess if that is how you booked. There are Cat. BB cabins on several different decks on the Regal, as well as closer to the middle or back of the ship than the one you're assigned.
