imgurahl Posted April 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2016 DW and I are set for our very first cruise on Carnival Magic in 2 weeks. 10 year anniversary and first time we've had alone time since the wedding day, so very much looking forward to it. Here's the silly question. What I want most from this trip is to lay next to the pool and have someone bring me daiquiris with little umbrellas in them. Is that realistic or romanticized? On board/off board, doesn't matter. Just one little umbrella to bring home... Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
cb at sea Posted April 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Not silly at all! If and when you see a pool waiter, tell them you will be ordering frequently, so they'll keep coming back to you. An additional tip of the tab will assure you they will return! You can get an umbrella at any bar...just ask!
paul929207 Posted April 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2016 That is an easy wish to have filled. Just find a lounger by the pool and lie back. A waiter will magically appear and take your order. Have a great cruise

Have a great cruise finding a chair next to the pool-- ??? On carnival especially the first day waiters will be out in full force asking you to buy a drink. Drinks are not free-- and you will sign for them each and every time You will have bar waiters in the show lounge too along with the dining room
Rare Keith1010 Posted April 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Not silly and very realistic. Keith
GrooveInWhichWeMove Posted April 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Not only does it sound realistic, but it sounds like paradise - which is why cruising is so great!
cruzeluver Posted April 7, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Getting the umbrella drink brought to your lounger : easy-peasy. Getting a lounger next to the pool : not so easy-peasy. You can get one somewhere but there are only so many right by the pool and many of your 4,000 plus fellow cruisers will want them as well.
ober134 Posted April 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Just be realistic to know that the pools are actually quite small. Sea days open loungers may be hard to find... Make sure to check out the Serenity deck... adults only area. I've not cruised Magic, but have enjoyed other Carnival Serenity decks. Bon Voyage!! Also - Since its your first cruise, don't sweat the small stuff and enjoy!!! You may just become addicted as we are.

KirkNC Posted April 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Wow that will be a break but I am sure you will still be thinking about them. have a great time and have several umbrella drinks!
zookiebird Posted April 7, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 7, 2016 If you stay on board ship during one of your port stops you'll find the pool area much less crowded and I would suspect the waiters even more attentive than their normal fine service. Definitely not a bad way to spend the day if you don't have anything planned on shore.
Wendyland Posted April 7, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 7, 2016 When I've been on carnival, I can't turn around without someone offering me a drink. You shouldn't have any trouble. There are a lot of chair hogs by the pool, but I can usually snag one when I want it.
