4x4bob Posted April 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Take leather gloves. You can wear them when your cabin number is drawn by lot for you to fall out and man the Oars to row when the wind dies down and the sails go limp. :D Bob
cruiseonthebrain Posted April 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Don't believe anyone who tells you to wear the life jacket at night in case the ship sinks while you're asleep.
OCruisers Posted April 21, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Beware of taking all the items often listed on those "packing list of extra things you need to take" or you won't have any room left for your clothes. :D
CapeCodCruiser Posted April 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 21, 2016 Order as many entrees & desserts as you want!
Capt_BJ Posted April 21, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) when the line is long at the pool bar, simply gaze out to sea and say to no one in particular, "are those whales?" then a) place bar order if you can get bartenders attention who may have run to side of ship with everyone else to look for whales b) at dinner try to keep straight face when you overhear conversations: "did you see the whales today?" wwcruisers Posted April 21, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 21, 2016 DON'T pack all of your clothes in the suitcases that you put out in the hall, on the last night. Otherwise, the next morning, you'll be disembarking in your "jammies"!;)
Captain Canuck Posted April 21, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2016 take no clothes and you may make $
Shmoo here Posted April 21, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 21, 2016 The main dining room is not an extra cost. Yes, I've read reports of people eating in the buffet every night because they thought that was their only choice.
frawnsay Posted April 21, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 21, 2016 There was a thread that I read prior to our first cruise about what people leave behind in the cabin. Sure enough, when we checked under the bed, behind the sofa, behind drawers...we found silly little tokens left behind. Nothing really crazy, but good for some giggles. If you can find the thread, so people have found dorm crazy stuff!

SPacificbound Posted April 21, 2016 #15 Share Posted April 21, 2016 When the time finally comes and you board the ship, and the cabins are ready so you get to see your very first cabin..... :) take a moment to to see if your cabin is port or starboard, and which direction is forward or aft. Our first cruise I was turned around for most of it. :D
cardbucfan Posted April 22, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Be careful what you do on your balcony-there are often cameras and you might not want an audience!;)
Dayenu Posted April 22, 2016 #17 Share Posted April 22, 2016 My relative was really disappointed to learn that she won't be able to open her cabin's window. Whined that she paid over the price of an inside cabin for nothing. You are forewarned.
tomko2 Posted April 22, 2016 #18 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Don't take off your bathing suit to shower by the pool (solarium pools on RCL) -- those are clear glass showers folks! Watched a woman one day step in and take off her bathing suit. :D
Sugarlift Posted April 22, 2016 #19 Share Posted April 22, 2016 Be careful what you do on your balcony-there are often cameras and you might not want an audience!;) LOL I must remember to inform my SO of this- we have a balcony cabin for our upcoming cruise and he is very keen to have some ahem... "fun" on said balcony :D :p:eek:

I have thought the same thing numerous times about the "extras." I visualize my suitcase full of clips, shoe hanger, flashlight, magnets, power strip, alarm clock, bungie cord........... :D :)

Kartgv Posted April 22, 2016 #22 Share Posted April 22, 2016 This one usually comes up on the first 'comedian' night - don't EVER flush the toilet while you're sitting on it!
SadieN Posted April 22, 2016 #23 Share Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Embarkation--Do not pack your travel documents in the bag you give to the porter. Debarkation--Do not put your purse in the trunk of your car when exiting the parking lot. Most ports want payment as you exit.
