When I get a gift card, if I don't use the whole amount, the rest just stays on the card to be used at another time. I've never had a NCL gift card, so don't know if they are different. I just went on NCL's website and here is what it said: Q: What if a purchase amount is less than the value on the Gift Card? A: If the Gift Card is used for a purchase which is less than the balance of funds available on the card, the amount of purchase can be charged, and then the Gift Card can be returned to the cardholder to use the remaining balance for future purchases. I hope you took a note of the number when you bought it and have confirmation from the boat of what you used it for. Then get them to sort it out. If you still have it get in touch with NCL, give them the number and ask how much you still have available for your next cruise. I cannot see you getting a refund. Where did you think onboard you were going to spend $300 on a short cruise? I personally could have spent it in the casino, no problem. Having the card turn it over to see if there is a website to go to and punch in the required data to see the value remaining and what if anything needs to be done to refund it or use before expiration date. May even be an 800 number to call for more information and/or help. Whatever don't leave it sit idle - it is not earning interest or a dividend and it is YOUR MONEY ! FEES Fees Associated with your Gift Card Subject to applicable law, beginning the 13th consecutive month after there has been no activity on your Card, a fee of $3.00 per month will be assessed to your Card. This fee will be assessed to your Card as long as there are funds remaining on your Card and no further activity has occurred. If further activity occurs, we will wait until the 13th consecutive month of no activity to assess the fee. You may avoid this fee by making regular purchases with your Card. Lost/Stolen Card Replacement Fee If your Card is lost or stolen, there will be a fee of $6.95 to replace it. Other than possibly bank gift cards, I don't know of any company that lets you bring the card back and get money you didn't spend on it. On Carnival they cut you a check for any unused OBC. It is 7 weeks tomorrow no refund. He got me this as a surprise. Had a pedicure but that's all, also could not use it in the Casino.
