We will be on the Crown next week. Can anyone tell me if you can use cash in the casino or do you have to use the sign and sail cards for slot machines, etc?

You can use cash at the tables. Not sure about the slot machines, we always use our card.

Either way you need the card to play slots, because you have to set up an account.

Cash is fine at tables and slots, but not too sure about the Texas Hold Em tournament table. I don't remember seeing a bill acceptor, but I wasn't looking for one either.

My memory is that you can use cash in the slots, but when it's time to withdraw your winnings, you have to put the balance on your card and go to the cashiers window to get your money. The machines don't pay out in coins like they used to.

That is exactly how it works ... cash can go in, with or without your card, however, if you have a remaining balance on the machine, you will have to put it back onto your sail and sign card (or whatever it is called ... your room key). You can then cash it out at the cashier's window ... periodically or at the end of the cruise, whichever you choose.

All slot machines take cash. I've used cash but use my cruise card to remove & keep the money from the machine. If you want to get your cash back just go to the cashiers window & they will give you your money. I've none this many times.
