Galley tour

I take it you're referring to the general walk-through galley tour that's available on just about every cruise.

That will be announced in the daily program, and you just show up for it. There is no limit on the number of people, so no need to sign up.

We just did it on the NA...just showed up and they ran us through...took about 10 minutes. We couldn't hear the fellow leading the group.. It was NOT like other more in-depth galley/back area tours, but was OK.

It is usually on the first sea day in the morning usually around 10 AM.

We gave up going to them as a few times it was a mob scene. They brook us all down in down in groups and we had to wait to go through the kitchen. Nearly missed the cooking demonstration at 11 AM because it took so long to get everyone through.

We were on the Maasdam in Jan & did the galley tour. As mentioned it's on the daily, On Location. It was interesting to see where all the work is done & how little space there is when you consider how many meals are served. They also had a tour of the store rooms, laundry etc. Again it's surprising how few people do the laundry for the whole ship & the turn around time to get yours back. It's worth the time to get a look at who does all the work & the people you never think about, also those that get part of your daily gratuities.
