baxley Posted July 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2016 How do you sign up for a galley tour? I always seem to miss it. Can you sign up before the cruise? I'll be on the Maasdam. Thanks.
RuthC Posted July 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2016 I take it you're referring to the general walk-through galley tour that's available on just about every cruise. That will be announced in the daily program, and you just show up for it. There is no limit on the number of people, so no need to sign up. janmcn Posted July 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2016 We just did it on the NA...just showed up and they ran us through...took about 10 minutes. We couldn't hear the fellow leading the group.. It was NOT like other more in-depth galley/back area tours, but was OK.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2016 It is usually on the first sea day in the morning usually around 10 AM. We gave up going to them as a few times it was a mob scene. They brook us all down in down in groups and we had to wait to go through the kitchen. Nearly missed the cooking demonstration at 11 AM because it took so long to get everyone through. 57redbird Posted July 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2016 Agree with what Janmcn said - don't remember which ship but we couldn't hear a thing the leader said - wasn't worth doing in our opinions.

Rare ski ww Posted July 8, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 8, 2016 We were on the Maasdam in Jan & did the galley tour. As mentioned it's on the daily, On Location. It was interesting to see where all the work is done & how little space there is when you consider how many meals are served. They also had a tour of the store rooms, laundry etc. Again it's surprising how few people do the laundry for the whole ship & the turn around time to get yours back. It's worth the time to get a look at who does all the work & the people you never think about, also those that get part of your daily gratuities.
