Rooms to avoid on Reflection....

We are thinking about booking a last minute cruise in November for E. Caribbean. They have a great deal going right now like free beverage package and gratuities with ocean view cabin or better. My question is which floor to avoid for a balcony room. Looking at booking something on the 8th Floor or higher. Do not really want an aft.

I have always checked the S class cabin spreadsheet before doing anything else. Then I search the Celebrity threads for cabins that are most desirable. Depending on the category you are looking for, you will find more or less information about cabins on specific ships.

 

For example, the largest balcony cabins on desk 9 are 9209, 9215, 9213, 9237, and 9239. The "best cabins" have been reported as 9237, 9292, 9215, 9270, 9155 and 9192.

 

On deck 8, the "best cabins" have been reported as 8279, 8252, 8257, 8230 (which I have booked on a Caribbean cruise in 2/18), 8197 and 8160.

 

On deck 10, the "best cabins" have been reported as 1243, 1132, 1075 and 1044.

 

Good luck with your search. There are many posts from which you can gather information.

Cruisin' lady gave you some great advice. The only thing that I would add is, if you are extremely sensitive to smoke, avoid port side as there is a remote chance of smoke drifting up from deck 5 while in Port.

We had 2131 on deck 12. I will never book anything that forward again. The sea was ruff coming back the last day from the E. Caribbean cruise on Reflection.

Anything going between eastern Florida and the Caribbean is going to have some "rough" seas going and coming as they have to cross the Gulf Stream. Weather patters will affect just how much movement there is.

 

But some of us LOVE the movement!! :D

Additional recommendation re: veranda cabins on Equinox. Our family stayed in 7304, 7310 and 7320 for our Caribbean cruise in March 2015. The cabins were just fine - quiet, convenient to elevators and unobstructed views. Cabins 7304 and 7310 has the bed by the balcony. Cabin 7320 has the bed by the bathroom.

 

I provided information about these cabins on the S Class Cabin Spreadsheet thread.

 

Unfortunately, it appears that many cabins are not included in the spreadsheet so you may have to search for adjacent cabins to get a sense of the "neighborhood".

I'm so glad you posted this. I had mistakenly come to think based on my other cruise experiences that the smoking sections were always starboard.

 

I was able to call the agency I have my upcoming cruise with and change my cabin from 1521 (port) to 1518 (starboard)!!

 

Note to self when changing cruiselines: make sure to ask which side the public smoking areas are on!!

Glad I could help. We had vowed never to book a balcony again until we found Celebrity. Paying for an unusable balcony is insane. On our last cruise on the Reflection, I smelled smoke coming from the balcony next to us and I said loudly to my DH, "I guess some people aren't aware that smoking is not allowed on any balcony on Celebrity." We never smelled it again. We spent many happy hours on that balcony.

FYI, the plans above do NOT include Reflection cabin numbers as the deck plans are different. But you can get an idea of where on the ship these cabins are and overlay that knowledge onto the Reflection plans.

A general rule of thumb would be to avoid deck 12 which is directly below the pool and the buffet. ;)

We were just on Reflection July 8. We normally choose our own room but this was a company trip that my husband won for his sales. The TA the company used gave us 1520 Aqua class. The room had a service entrance across from it and the cart with the towels and sheets came out early in the morning and stayed in the hall for a long time. Lots of noise from that service door and a lot of activity there all day. Also a long walk to the elevator even the forward elevator and to go to the other elevator was a really long walk. The room was fine except for the above mentioned items.

Avoid the staterooms with connecting doors between cabins. On the Reflection (Unlike the other ships in her class) the connecting door is in the interior near the door to the corridor. Although we didn't have a problem with noise, if someone in the next stateroom is loud, you may hear it through the connecting door in your stateroom.

The connecting staterooms on the Reflection are different from other S class ships? So they have a door inside the stateroom connecting the 2 rooms instead of creating a "vestibule" outside the usual stateroom door with a "new" single entrance door to access the 2 cabins?

Yes, it has been reported many times on CC that Reflection is configured differently to all the other S class ships with regards to the 'connection'.

My DH and I have booked Reflection cabin 1626. It's on the starboard hump near the elevators. Does anyone know if this area would be terribly noisy? Would any of the other C1's in that area be a better choice? My DH likes the view front and back so the aft cabins are not a choice.

No, not noisy at all. There is a partition that separates the elevators from the staterooms, so you won't hear anything. Additionally, there are staterooms above you, so no noise unless they are jumping up and down on the floor.

 

Your stateroom has the bed by the balcony configuration, so if you prefer bed by the bath, they alternate back & forth, bed by balcony/bath/balcony/bath, etc.

Thanks Wine-O! I knew the part about cabins above and below... learned a lesson on RCL in a Grand Suite under the pool... never again. Glad there is a wall between us and the elevators. Bed by the balcony is actually preferred so that's good to know too.
